How is raping a 9 year old and "hooking up" with an adult human comparable? If Jesus raped a 9 year old and millions find him morally perfect, I would criticize Jesus harshly to the point of offensiveness.
Is it okay for me to say that Bill Cosby is a rapist knowing that it offends a lot of his fans? Is it okay for me to call a person who marries a 6 year old and has sex with when she is 10 while he was 53 a pedophile knowing it offends his fans? Is it okay for me draw a cartoon of this person who had sex with a 10 year old knowing it offends his fans?
Both attack the core of a religion for millions of people. Both are unnecessary. Both achieve nothing and only make the world a little bit ****tier.
The N word has a negative connotation of centuries of disenfranchisement and enslavement of a particular race. Bad analogy. Give me an example of a similar situation: A historical figure who has done some morally reprehensible acts and is deemed as perfectly moral by many.
OK? I'm not one to offer a moral answer. Within your rights? Sure. Like I've said a million times, what does it accomplish? Will it turn Muslims Christian? Nope. Will it ease tensions between religious groups? No.
The n word is a perfect analogy because it insights the same feelings within black people as does a drawing of the prophet for Muslims.
Someone harshly criticizing Muhammad invoked my curiosity and provoked me to do my own research thus making me leave my religion which I consider a positive. How could millions of Muslims know how horrible the man they deem infallible is if everyone out of some arbitrary nation of "respect" fears to criticize him? How can you "lightly" without being offensive state that Muhammad was a child rapist to someone? It's a harsh truth and harsh truths can be offensive.
So you think groups like ISIS, Al Qaeda, etc are reasonable people... Gotcha. At this point I'm one to believe that those groups of people are not very reasonable and are willing to kill whoever and die for whatever. That's probably why we're having a difference of opinion.
The N word directly criticizes individuals as it is a characterization of them as a human of a particular race. Making fun of one man is not a direct criticism of the actual Muslim, but rather a dead individual that they CHOSE to deem as infallible.
I'm not muslim, I'm not even religious. I'm an agnostic. I think religion, whether it be atheism or Islam or Christianity or Judaism isn't the right course. I also know a number of people who can stare facts right in the face and still cling to faith. I have christian friends who believe in creation, do you know why I don't bring up the fact that this model is horribly flawed? Because I see the greater good in keeping them as friends, and know how their faith (however wrong I believe it is) is unwavering. To what end is your goal is what you always must ask yourself.
Black people choose to be offended by a word as well. It's a word. It's not a knife, not a gun, it's a word. It's a word that attacks them at their core. They CHOOSE for this word to have an effect.
how about it's funny, I think it's funny that a billion people worship a pedophile, I also think it's funny when South Park and Family guy makes fun of Jesus and Moses. What does South Park accomplish, it sure doesn't ease tensions between religions groups, but it entertains me. Almost everything and everyone in this world has been used in humor and satire at some point, political figures, religions figures, athletes, celebrities, all of a sudden we have a problem with this specific guy named Mohammad being drawn because "it doesn't accomplish anything"
It is, it is an outright rejection of God based upon belief. You cannot prove not disprove the existence of God. If you think the preponderance of evidence states that God shouldn't exist, but still accept the fact that you cannot prove nor disprove the existence of God you are not atheist. At that point, you are agnostic, or literally translated without knowledge.
Then you need to watch South Park a bit closer. It attacks everyone to show how we are all more similar than we are different.
Nope. Atheism makes no claim towards a deity. Atheism simply states that there is no evidence for an existence of a deity. Atheism does not state that there is evidence that no deity exists. It is simply impossible to disprove the notion of a deity. Atheists make no claims about a god. Theists do. The onus is on the claim maker to provide evidence for that claim.
that's not the point is it, it's not about south park, a lot of people find South Park;s depiction of Muhammad offensive as well, and there was a lot of controversey surrounding certain episodes on the subject. The point is, you don't exactly have to "accomplish something" to do something to humorous or to entertain
It's in the name. A- means without, diest- God. It literally means without God. It asserts there is no God. It is an outright rejection of God. Ask an athiest is God is a possibility, 9/10 of them will say no. The 1/10 that says yes is an agnostic.
