Not sure if posted or if it actually means anything, but...

Some guy made a thread on the Texans subreddit saying he heard it from a very reliable source that Brian Hoyer is 100% coming here.

Hopefully this is guy is the KingDrew of the Texans rather than the cyberx

Hoyer and Fitzpatrick are the same guy. At least with Mallett there is a shot to potentially be something more.

I can see it happening. How much can we save by cutting Fitzpatrick? Because if we do sign hoyer there is no way we keep mallett hoyer fitz and savage. And I think mallett will beat him out and hoyer will be a good teammate about it.

I believe Fitzy's contract was only guaranteed for one season so we should lose nothing if we waive him. Do not really want Hoyer unless he was just coming down to compete. I guess he would be a competent backup tho, but I wonder if he's looking to start or what.

    Mel Kiper's Mock Draft

Lots of people have had us taking Trae Waynes at 16th. Some have also had us taking a safety

seems to be a good CB draft class. Texans could use some new blood but no matter how good a CB is, their rookie year is always a bit dicey. I assume joseph is going to be a cap casualty, but I haven't paid much attention to that yet.

I'd also expect a run on LBs.

I think they are on the right track mocking DB's to the Texans, but it's a long off-season.

White reminds me of Hopkins. He will be a good one

So, just in general, what kind of odds do you guys put on Peyton actually leaving Denver, not retiring, and coming to the Texans? 100 : 1?

2015 Draft Mission Statement should be, "Quality Over Quantity!!!" We need to package our lower picks and get as many 2nd/3rd/4th round picks as we can get.

We don't need a deep draft, we just need to hit on higher picks because Clowney, Nix, Su'a-Filo, and Ballentine are like extra picks this upcoming draft. Plus we got Posey again almost like an extra pick. Then you have Mallet (if you sign him) has an extra player as well.

Again, Quality over Quantity!!! Much easier to hit on a 2nd/3rd rounder than anything later round.

Also did anybody see this news, January 11, 2015 Signed S Shiloh Keo to a future contract. WTF?!?!

I don't know mayne we actually do pretty good with our 6th round picks. It's 2nd through the 4th round we seem to have problems with

Does anyone think we should go after a runningback in the 2nd?

We will eventually need a Foster replacement and I just don't think Alfred Blue has the talrnt to be more than a good #2 back.

Abdullah in the 2nd looks like a very very intriguing choice. He can do everything but has issues with pass blocking, but most RBs are bad at that when they enter the league.

Or do you guys think we don't need to worry about it until next year?

I don't ever think its a good idea to draft a running back that early, especially when this team has so many more needs

That Hoyer news is terrible...I think even the biggest Fitz haters would agree that we're not gaining anything with Hoyer thrown into the mix.

As far as RB is concerned, I wouldnt address that in this draft. Way too many needs to consider. Plus, I usually dont like RBs in the top 3 rounds.

I think our draft plan should be:
    1st round - CB
    2nd round - ILB
    3rd round - FS
    4th round - WR

BPA all other picks. Or, trade them up and get another 4th rounder.

I think almost anyone would admit that Hoyer would be a step backwards.

Love that plan, except I wouldn't say WR in the 4th unless someone you really believe in is there. Not sure I've seen enough to say someone there will be better than a WR in the 5th-6th.

Obviously some FA dependency too. Wonder if we find a way to grab a NT or LB in free agency, or cut Myers (not sure what the cap savings would be) and then look to draft on the O line.
