If this is true, (and even if not), I still think we have the most to offer of any team (including the teams mentioned in that insiders post). So basically if Dragic is indeed available I think we have the most assets to get him here. Orlando could give more but doubt they pony up much if they think a UFA might not stay.
Its pure homerism if anyone ever thinks that D-Mo should be a roadblock from acquiring a great player. But I think the point is, there should be ways to substitute including him to still have the best offer on the market. The issue with Dragic and other "Potential" available players is that they truly aren't available yet for Morey to make a real offer. If they were, they would already be Rockets. So these are all dream scenarios to begin with.
I'm fine with trading Dmo, Terry, and picks for Dragic. By the time the deal is done TJones will be back he can start and then insert Canaan into the guard rotation
There's no way Orlando would want Dragic, given that they already have Peyton, Fornier, and Oladipo. I don't think Chicago would be interested in Dragic, since they already have Rose, Butler, Hinrich, and AB. There's no way Dragic would resign there. I could see a 3-way trade between Houston, Orlando, and Phoenix: HOU In: Goran, Zoran, Frye HOU Out: DMo, NOP 1st, Terry, Papanikolaou, Shved PHX In: NOP 1st, DMo, Papa, Shved PHX Out: Goran, Zoran, TJ Warren ORL In: TJ Warren, Terry ORL Out: Frye Houston Dragic / Beverley Harden / Ariza / Brewer Frye / TJones Howard / Smith
I love Dmo But If we can get Frye with dragic, I wouldn't be very hurt about losing him. But why would the magic trade Frye? Maybe to free minutes for that PF they drafted from Arizona?
Exactly. Orlando has 3 PFs that need time: Gordon, O'Quinn and Harris, and all 3 can shoot the ball. Gordon should be back soon, so it wouldn't surprise me if they try to free up some minutes for him. They would want a wing in return (thus why I included Warren). We may also have to throw in the NYK 2nd. I think this is the type of move Houston does if Cleveland gives them a definitive "no" on Love.
He was right on quite a few moves that the suns made in the last couple of years. That means disclosing moves before anybody else knew about them.
Reading how others replied to him they consider him legit....with a couple skeptics. Kinda like Cyber
I feel the same way. I love Dmo and wouldn't trade him for dragic straight up. But that doesn't only have to do with loving what Dmo brings but the fact that we couldn't afford to lose him at the 4 just to improve at the 1. BUT if we could address that hole reasonably well and get dragic I'm all for it. My only remaining concern is chemistry and how long it'd take to rebuild it with that much change in the lineup.
I'm not so high on Frye. Poor defender, isn't he? And yes, he can shoot the three and that is awesome, but he seems like he can't do anything else. He shoots 39% on 2 pointers! And losing DMo means have zero post-up offense. We'd be relying entirely on Harden (and, if we got him, Dragic) to create everything the entire game. Plus his contract is about $8 million per year and extends through 2017-2018.
I would be bummed out to see Terry moved. He's our best cheerleader and is probably a great leader in the locker room.
Yeah I'm not terribly high on Frye. Things to consider for me at the 4: defense, post game (bc Howard's give me nightmares) and/or outside shooting. Frye you get the latter but sacrifice the first two. My comfort level with that depends entirely on how howard plays in he post. So not very comfortable in other words.
