I am glad you allow me to lease space in your mind and thoughts.. pretty sad... I don't even know who you are or can tell you what you post about.. but somehow you know me or what I post about..' You are one of the reasons I left this board. such a sensitive human.
Work injury so I didn't pay a dime. One week was at rehabilitation hospital. I'm still on a crutch but almost back to normal.
I've smoked maybe 15 cigarettes in my life. It gives you an excuse to stand/sit around talking to someone, but other than that I never got much out of it. I prefer dip, cigars, or hookah.
It can be done and does not require ungodly willpower because I'm no bastion of willpower. You're still young. Just quit. I quit cold turkey about 5 years ago at age 50 after multiple false quits over the years. I no longer have the desire for a cigarette even though my wife still smokes and the temptation is always a purse away.
Rashmon is right. It doesn't require "will power", it only requires that you're smarter than nicotine. First 3 days without are a b****. After that, the physical cravings will subside. Take it one day at a time. Don't dwell about never having another cigarette(or any form of nicotine for that matter)for the rest of your life. That's daunting for real. Take it day by day like any other goal that's worthwhile. Keep in mind it will test you when you least expect it, trying to rationalize with an addiction is asking for relapse. As long as you never take another puff you're a mothertruckin non-smoker.
Anything else but cold turkey will prolong physical addiction and studies show that cold turkey quitters have the best long term success rate over NRT users. Here's a site I use to empower my quit. whyquit.com
