Alexey* Beverley* But uh... yeah. I don't see it at all. I didn't see anything special in him when he was on the Sixers either, so maybe I'm just missing it. I'd far prefer for Canaan to be the 3rd guard in the rotation.
oh and Alexy can hit free throws at the end of the games and we don't have too many players that can hit free throws consistently when it's gonna count come playoff time. The irony to all of this is that Terrence Jones just "might" be the X FACTOR in this entire equation. The games against the Wizards,San Antonio and tonight Jones would've definitely made a difference in the outcome in my opinion.
yeah I hear what your saying...not sure why Mchale sent Canaan back down to the D-League. He can score flat out and has court vision
He looks like a well rounded player with potential, his shot looks good, he can drive and draw fouls, he passes, is 6'6 with the quickness and ball handling of a pg. He seems like a solid backup, we just need a big time upgrade for our starting position.
I'm anxious to see what y'all are seeing in him... I just don't. I'm glad Jet got rest tonight, but I frankly think we would've been better off with him and/or Kostas getting Shved's minutes tonight.
HMMM good point I would think Mchale had choices to give Canaan more playing time while he was on the bench and didn't. One way or another Beverly isn't enough. At the same time, the silly 5 or 6 turnovers a game the rockets are making just because they haven't played long enough with one another should get resolved in the next month or so. It seems as thought they improved in some areas tonight and decline others...like a see saw. Waiting for them to put it all together...looking forward to T Jones coming back
Its nights like this that I have to remind myself that we are lucky to be the position that we are in. Im just glad im not a sixers or knicks fan.
So we struggle with the Nets, now we lose to the Magic and our defensive identity is definitely out the door: GONE! Also Josh Smith getting so many attempts is the problem we are going to keep having when there is no coach! No accountability and of course McHale runs an 8-man rotation where the starters average over 35 minutes!! Dumb, di, di, dumb dumb DUMB!!!
WHAT?! WHAT?! The only thing I could think of when this dude was playing was please sit him down... Trying to force some of the dumbest shots in the game... That's not court vision sir! Defense against a very veteran/old Luke R was laughable... Wow...smh
That is a sobering admission by you, knowing you are a big Bev fan. Fear not, if we realize the weaknesses in our team, so do Morey, and he will attempt to fix that within 35 days from today. Despite the loss today, I am pretty confident we are close to a team that can win it all, only because there are no dominant teams this year. Missing that one final piece.
Yeah he definitely hasn't been good for us, but on the season he has an assist rate almost identical with Harden and a really low TO rate. He isn't efficient scoring the ball, it seems from his stats that he creates pretty well without making many mistakes which could be useful for our high turnover team. At the same time, I understand the side pining for Canaan. His shooting in our offense just seems lethal. Then again I had really, really high hopes for Daniels before the season started so maybe I really underestimate how bad Daniels and Canaan are defensively. In the end, unless a trade happens I think it's going to be Terry when it matters come playoff time.
Haven't watched the game, so I don't understand something from the box score: starting 5 had terrific FG%, yet they had from -10 and -13 between them, while the bech guys (brewer and smith) had +10. Is it because of 16 turnovers combined from starting 5?
