I'm worried that taking the ball from Harden will have a bed effect. Harden is probably the best point guard and shooting guard in the NBA right now.

Is Rubio really a better ball handler than Harden? I have doubts . . .

People say the Rockets need a second ball handler to take pressure off of Harden, but I don't think they realize the roll of a "support guard" next to Harden in the starting lineup.

Think of it like this. Imagine if you were a film director trying to make an Oscar contender, and you have cast Daniel Day Lewis in the lead role. Would you ever say to yourself that you should take away key scenes and dialog to give to lets say Orlando Bloom, and think that the movie & Daniel Day Lewis' performance will ultimately benefit from it?

The role of the supporting actor, or the supporting guard in this situation should always be to elevate the performance of the star and the driving force behind the show.

Sometimes its great to have someone come in and add some life to a film when its dragging on a little bit, and there is a lull sort of like Dennis Hopper in Apocalypse Now. However there is a reason why Coppola never put both Duvall and Hopper in a scene with Marlon Brando.

That is like the role of the 6th man. Not your support guard elevating the performance of the key star who is the driving force behind the winning attack.

So do people really think Ricky Rubio is the right player to support and elevate the performance of James Harden? The same Ricky Rubio who can't shoot to save his life, often games and drifts off of his man on defense (see Pat Beverley's best offensive performances last year), needs the ball in his hands to create on the p&r, and can't stay healthy?

On this team, his role would probably be best served coming off the bench as a guard who can speed up the tempo, and breathe a little life in the game. I don't see him as a great "fit" next to Harden in a supporting guard role.

Career 37 percent shooter from the field... :(

I like Rubio just fine, but there is no way I would pay him significant money on this team

I think he is a better fit in Minny.

You're probably in the minority, we'll say that.

When he brings up the Rubio business, I don't get a sense he's quoting sources. Sure, I can believe Flip wants to, uh, flip Rubio; but now I'm reminded of that show "Flip or Flop" (and the hot blonde wife, but let's skip that).

Yeah, if you trade for such a player, the other team flips him...but could turn into a flop for the receiving team.

Who says Morey is still interested in Rubio, anyway? And isn't he kinda injury prone?

Bledsoe, Dragic and other PGs may be more talented but they will never have Beverly's heart. Doubt any of those guys can go into the paint and collect rebounds the way Bev does.

Why does it have to be either/or? Couldn't you just have 48 minutes of outstanding guard play between Dragic/Harden/Beverley?

    Rubio. Pass
    Deron Williams. Pass

We aren't desperate. Morey needs to stay far away from these bad fits and contracts.

I wish we would just stick with this roster, because they seem to be getting it together.

I will say this about Rubio's defense, in our system it will be akin to what Brewer does: disruption and energy. I'm not sure this will mesh well with the rest of the starting lineup

I love this guy but what about Cannan? He's better than Nate (although not as crazy. It would be funny to see Pat and Nate going all crazy)

Well yeah, he's he's better ball handler than Harden... but I think taking the ball out of Harden's hands would have a bigger negative impact than any positive impact Rubio would have.
