Really enjoy when the headband brigade comes in. Morey teaching Cuban another valuable lesson, you don't trade important parts of your bench for one headband when you can maneuver minor assets for 3.
and after all this, ariza has yet to improve his shooting. 35% from the field, 33% from three in the 6 games played in january. i guess that is an improvement from his 20/20 percentages, so nevermind that. srs tho his minutes are down to about 30 a game instead of 40. his shooting efficiency will get back to league average by the end of this month
What a upgrade from last year, it's crazy. Jeremy Lin Omri Casspi Troy Daniels Francisco Garcia Josh Powell Jordan Hamilton to Corey Brewer Josh Smith Alex Shved Kostas Papanikolaou Jason Terry Big upgrade.
Morey was right, letting Parsons go was bad short term but by the end of the season we'll be wah better than last year
Oh trust me. We will never be clear favorites. We are still the most hated team in the league. People love waiting for us to lose and then beating off in joy as the haters come in full force to **** on us.
Having Josh Smith, Terry and Brewer coming off the bench is such a blessing. Those three guys will continue to build chemistry and bring so much energy to this team. Those three guys are good enough to start on half the teams in the NBA. At the start of the season when the Rockets lost Parsons, Lin and Asik, I had a lot of doubts with this team. I felt that last season our depth was horrible and now losing Lin and Asik, it will be worst. But props to Morey, who took his time and make deals on the right pieces. Last year, the Rockets bench consist of Lin, inconsistent D-Mo, Casspi, Asik and Garcia. At first I thought the Rockets had a pretty good bench with Lin and Asik leading the way during the preseason last year. But compare that bench to today's bench and wow is it a big difference. Brewer alone would make a bigger impact than half the bench together last year. Terry like Garcia, brings that veteran leadership, but he has a championship pedigree and he's effective, able to knock down threes consistently and is vital to our bench while Garcia has gotten worse after each game. Then Josh Smith fell into our laps. Nobody can bring the versatility off the bench like Smith can. If everything goes well for Josh, he will bring so much to this team. Those three guys are the X-Factor for this team. Then add in Terrence Jones, and all of our young promising players and this team is incredibly deep.
Lol i feel the same way. Its like last season with Casspi, Lin, Garcia and Jordan Hamilton, it was nothing but bricks, turnovers and getting lit up by the opposing player. Garcia was better than the rest defensively but still... At times, Casspi and Lin were just playing scared out there. There were times when I kept asking myself how the heck is Casspi in the NBA. I'm so happy the Rockets are finally through with those guys. I have no idea why the Kings picked up Casspi, freaking idiots. Plus the Lakers trading for Lin. What happen to all those crazy Lin's fan? I remember they kept heckling me about how Harden is selfish and won't give Lin the ball; Lin should be controlling the ball and calling the shots at the end of games; that the Rockets were Lin's team; Mchale hates Lin and have Beverly start; and Harden is stealing Lin's stardom away from him.
In the starting lineup. He compared the bench from last season to our current bench. Chandler Parsons was never on the bench. Now ask yourself - who's the @ss? He did forget Omer Asik though.
More likely to end up broke if you didn't earn it. So you have to be smart. To your pt - I will take it however we can get it. It won't be easy. You have to be good enough to beat the tenacity/strategy of opposing players/coaches, scheduling and the officials(bias + $ & ratings driven decisions). The league has their darling teams like GSW with their lovely potential COTY/MVP stories they would love to promote. You also have to be good enough to overcome bad games from a few slumping/sore or DNP players. Sometimes the ball will not bounce your way no matter what - see NO game or Chicago.
I like that Joshua and Dwight are friends and will push each other. Love terry and brewer but hate that BW can't tell them apart.
If Josh Smith can become what Lamar Odom was for the LA Lakers in 2008-2010, then the Rockets will be incredibly well positioned to win that chip.
Just think how good the bench will be when it acquires Pat Beverley and his ball hawking skill? Kidding sorta... But he'd be great with the bench brigade and to come in for spurts to disrupt a player that gets hot. Not as a full time starter that other teams don't really guard.
