Not if you take into account his yearly losses. He'll still make money on the deal for sure though. What a *mess* his roster is now though.
What?? He's greedy because he wants to cash in on an investment?? An investment HE took to the next level by moving to Brooklyn and opening a state-of-the-art facility? How does what he spent his money on effect ANYBODY outside of the Nets organization?? And on top of it, you're calling for him to open foundations and raise money for cancer research......foundations that typically eat up 80-90% of their revenues in operating costs. Take it down a notch.
Is this from Rounders? Also, can Beyonce buy the team? She's not affiliated with the Roc-A-Fella Agency, is she?
lol. they aren't going anywhere near it. media made a big hooha of jay z owning the team when all he owned was 0.1% of it and sat court side. those guys don't give a sh** about anything but doubling their cash and that's probably why the poor in america love them -- they live through them.
Or you know because they make music... Jay-Z and Beyonce were both at some point on the top of their respective genres.
Its a team like any other and like i said his endgame was to make money in general. Winning would've added more funds in between but being in the market theyre in, he's just fine. At least the new owner can say he moved them out of the swamps into a top media market (and im meaning being in NY) and got them a new arena...that's a pretty good selling point.
if you guys remember, prokhorov came into the league like a hot shot thinking he could buy his way to a title. kept going on about championship plans and spent money on a roster worth more than the knicks. he was supposed to have FUN with it already being a multi billionaire. turns out he has no clue what he's dong from a basketball standpoint and is why he's cashing out as soon as possible. the fact he got the nets for only $200 million with the intention to move them to Brooklyn is amazing.
what's the point of this post? the fact that they can sing has nothing to do with countless people thinking they love their nets or are dying to have a stake in them. everything they do is marketed for chumps. jay z already sold his 0.1% stake.
I don't think his end game was always just to sell it. He made a pretty investment into the team. I think his country's situation makes this the safe move to do, it's the Brooklyn Nets..he's going to get a lot out of this right now.
multiple sources <blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p>I'm not reporting Nets not selling; I'm reporting Nets are DENYING report, specifically Brett Yormark, Barry Baum & GM Billy King.</p>— Chris Broussard (@Chris_Broussard) <a href="https://twitter.com/Chris_Broussard/status/555081117012099072">January 13, 2015</a></blockquote> <script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>
That must mean they're selling lol:grin: <iframe style="display: none;" allowtransparency="true" scrolling="no" id="rufous-sandbox" frameborder="0"></iframe>
Can we keep Irina as Net's President!? <iframe width="560" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/za0eS7pdZpw" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
The Rockets need to go after Irina Pavlova to be the President of the Rockets. She will do a much better job at handling the business side of things than the incompetent, not to mention unsexy, Tad Brown. Tad Brown is not even fit to represent the Rokets at the lottery. More important, Irina, unlike Tad, didn't get her team into a local network that goes bankrupt.
<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p>Sources confirm Brooklyn Nets for sale <a href="http://t.co/6nPMfyEfGq">http://t.co/6nPMfyEfGq</a> via <a href="https://twitter.com/ESPNNBA">@espnnba</a></p>— Chris Broussard (@Chris_Broussard) <a href="https://twitter.com/Chris_Broussard/status/555085514408464385">January 13, 2015</a></blockquote> <script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script> So there. All bases covered.
