    Brothers of CF,

I am sitting right next to this jokester right next to me who is sitting next to the electrical outlets WITHOUT USING AN OUTLET. Don't be that guy. People are standing up to charge things because he is sitting in the chair. Bro, just... bro, why?

Why not ask him to move? It's not like you'll ever see this person again in your life after your flight. Let him know that's rude, without being outright hostile, instead of passive-aggressive standing.

Report a suspicious character sitting next to the outlet without charging to the authorities.

There were other seats available. I had a seat charging my laptop, so I wasn't standing. There were many, many seats available.

why do you need a seat to charge things. I just lay them on the floor next to the outlet. It's no different than giving my phone to a bartender to charge.

these things don't bother me. to me, it would be like asking someone at an airport restauarant/bar to move so I can use my laptop. Just ask them, but asking is arguably rude, too.

This is why I always charge my stuff before going to the airport. I don't want to be that guy looking around for an open outlet.

So much DUMB CRAP bothers people nowadays and so many people can be just rude.

Just go, politely say "Excuse me. I'm just going to connect this right next to you because there is no other available", connect it and leave it there and sit across it. It doesn't matter if someone's sitting next to something you need. Just use it and watch it. What's the big deal?

DONE. Be courteous, polite, etc., and quit making a big deal out of nothing.

It's all about the portable power banks, bro. Don't embarrass yourself by crowding an outlet.

"Excuse me, do you mind swapping seats with me? I need to charge my battery on that outlet there." Of course, you didn't actually need the seat yourself either since you already had one. But, since I think there already exists a reasonable remedy, I don't think we need to make new rules.

I'm more bothered by the ******* boarding a plane who takes forever to put his luggage up and sit down so the long line of people behind him can get in their seats. I have seen people stand there combing their hair before they sit down.

Charge your phone in the morning and resist the urge to text or candy crush every three seconds like a tween. Go into one of the eight dozen newstands in the concourse and catch the latest Foreign Affairs or New Yorker.

Like a man who doesn't need assigned seating in public.

Maybe I'm just old and do not understand this as new protocol, but if you asked to have my chair so you could be next to an outlet, I would laugh at you and point you to the outlet and the other empty chairs.

    Now get off my lawn...
