I was arguing just because Lowry had a (much) better start into the season, he's not necessarily a better player overall. Nothing more. Btw, he was tearing it up again against Dallas today.
I was looking at Lowry & Dragic's defensive numbers (the FG% comparison numbers that are on NBA.com). Lowry's numbers weren't like lockdown by any means, but Dragic's were really bad this year. Any explanation for that? I further looked at his teammate Isaiah Thomas' numbers, and they were good. Why does Dragic have such bad defensive numbers this year?
surely the more relevant debate is Lowry versus Bosh/Carmelo - would he have signed here is we had beat his door down and put him to the from our queue rather than our back-up signing
This is my one complaint about McHale. He mishandled the Dragic v Lowry situation when Lowry came back from that weird bacterial infection. I don't think there was any hope getting Lowry back after that.
He's an ok defender at best, and he's absolutely not a SG, now he's playing SG full time, whereas his good games last year were when Bledsoe was injured and Green was the SG. Where he's historically been a size mismatch for himself as a large point guard, he's now playing against guys bigger than him. I don't even understand why Phoenix want to keep him, they misuse him on both sides, so it's starting to seem more like a 3yo "because he's mine" mentality rather than anything else.
Lowry's playing at a crazy level this year. There is no comparison. Dragic hasn't proven himself as a difference maker
