I took profit this morning on volatility shorts I had as a swing and I've now actually took a nibble on some volatility longs.

Perhaps try your hand at fake trading for now; make some fake buys and follow the stock over time to see how much money you would have gained and lost. It's the easiest way to get yourself intellectually invested into the practice. Plus, the way the market is going right now (minor losses across the board vs standing pat at best), you'll probably have time to buy at current prices before things get going again.

It's impossible to time the market, but given the tepid uncertainty that seems to pervade the current headlines and news networks, it doesn't sound like things are ready to bounce anytime soon. No matter bull or bear market though, you should do some basic reading on fundamentals analysis before you go jumping in with actual cash.

O^^ pretty good advice except fundamental Analyis has been thrown out the window for the pay three years due to the fed supported market and the central banks out right buying positions. one should learn both fundamental and technical analysis, both important tools

Speaking of the Fed....has anyone seen any decent research on how much they have made from all the bonds they have bought?

I was thinking about this the other day. They have to be up like a trillion at least. They might have stumbled onto the greatest trade ever lol.

I'm using this rally as a chance to get short everywhere for a swing.

That 4h ES bar is a thing of beauty right now. Longs better secure them profits here, because it could get ugly over the next few weeks. Matter of fact I'm planning on it.

Wow that was awesome. I didn't have the moxy to hold on and took profit during the lunch hour. It was way too much to leave on the table. I'll look for another chance to get back short on any bounces should I get the chance.

I'm still long on UVXY...been in it since $21, so I think I'll stay in until it looks like the market stabilizes, or we take the fabled 10% correction. I did sell a little bit of it to take some profit yesterday though.

What happen when interest rates rise? Thats right they make the interest rates. I guess it helps having an infinite amount of money.

interesting reversal on oil futures from late yesterday until today. they hit about $51 in premarket now at around $46+. needless to say closed my trade this AM for a minimal gain.

in addition to bonds they were outright making purchases in the equity market as well. thats ridiculous. i had this article which confirmed this. I'll have to find it.
