It's weird that a self proclaimed married man is resorting to these childish 2005-esque troll responses, kind makes you wonder if he was ever truthful.
"Jeremy Lin...For the Tie!.... Airball!" - Lakers announcer. Meanwhile tonight (against the Blazers)... Jeremy throwing up garbage. Price throwing up garbage as well in terms of scoring but Price had 12 assists. Forget starting. With Tarik Black on board, Jeremy Lin is probably Laker's 4th or 5th best BENCH player at best now.
Oh come on. Now you are just hating and being stupid Lakers roster in terms of talent probably looks something like this 1) Kobe ..hate his selfish play but he's still the best player on the team 2) contributors all about the same level (hill, boozer, young, Johnson, lin, Ellington, black). I can't really say any one is better. 3) scrubs (Kelly, price, sarce and whoever the f is left on that team)
You are not thinking objectively. You made your list on past assumptions which is why your list does not hold today. The scrub on your list has kicked Lin out of the starting lineup and has actually been outplaying Lin. At this point I would take the following bench players over Lin... Boozer, Black, Young. Which effectively makes Lin 4th best bench player at best on the Lakers, just as I said.
lmao. I think youtube understands comedy, as this was the next vid it recommended to me. <iframe width="560" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/2714T_k2B1U" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
Not saying lin is better than young but by the same token if you just want to look at recent performances than nick young is 16 of 64 the past 5 games. In that same span prior to tonight lin scored double figures in every game and led the team in scoring prior to tonight's game and also hit 20 pts one game. Also price may be in the starting lineup but any sane person will not say price is better than lin. Averaging 5 pts a game on 37% shooting is hardly outplaying anyone. Look I'm not a crazy lin fan but I think it's you who is not thinking objectively. I threw out some stats and facts let's see you do the same to back up your claims. Also while black looks promising. Two games is just too small a sample size.
I am not looking at just the recent performances. I am looking at the big picture... Lin shot at 33% for the entire month of December and was pretty much putrid. You wanted stats? just look at his numbers for December. Not just a few games....about 15 or so games if I recall correctly. Lin's stats this year are no better than his stats with the Rockets. In fact, you can argue that he has regressed. Two big problems here. He is playing on a garbage team, the kind of team he should be putting huge numbers on if you are on your contract year like he is. He is already 26. If his numbers are not getting better than what they were 3 years ago, there are some issues. Nick Young, Black, Boozer...they all have a niche that teams looking for something particular would still want them. Young is a 3 point shooter and can help space the floor (Jr Smith has a made a living out of this), Black is a a young and decent backup big man who shows promise (not just two games in LA, he has shown he can contribute in his short stint in Houston. he just got caught up in the numbers game in Houston otherwise he would still be a Rocket). Boozer is another big can still give you some points in the low post. Lin, OTOH, does not have an identity which is why teams will be asking him, "what exactly can you provide?" He has weak handles and terrible decision making for a PG. He is not a good enough or a consistent shooter to play off the bench as an offensive spark. He was given this opportunity on both Rockets and Lakers and has failed at it. So what exactly does he bring to the table. It does not help Lin that the position that he plays is one of the most competitive in the league. If you put all these 4 players in the market, Lin will be the last one teams will inquire about. Lastly, regarding Price, you are not watching the games. You are just looking at the numbers. If you had watched the games, you would have seen that Price, since he has been inserted into the starting lineup, does a better job at directing traffic and setting up plays. I say this as someone that thinks Price is a scrub. His numbers since he has replaced Lin are not that bad either, especially when you consider what Lin was putting up during the same games. Price is not talented but plays like a PG (I am not saying he is good), which is what Byron Scott has openly said that Lin needs to do. Lin still does not get the PG position.
Does that picture include November and January ? He shot 48.1% in November (14 games) and is shooting 48.3% and 50% from 3 in Jan, albeiting 6 games to 14 in november and 15 in December hes just a confidence driven 3rd guard who has sucked for a month, definitely not surprising given how much he struggled last season when he had back spasms
It was the same with the Rockets. He used to disappear for long stretches at a time. I remember at one point last season we were seriously wondering if we should give some time to Canaan because surely he couldn't be any worse than Lin. Do you want someone like this in your 8-man rotation especially if you are trying to contend? IMO, you are asking for trouble if you are asking someone with his disappearing habits to play the PG spot, even if coming off the bench.
Yeah I did say last season, he had some issues with back spasms and just flat out sucked for ages. No I am not comfortable with any player that is Jekyl and Hyde performance-wise, I'm honestly more comfortable with Terry playing those minutes. The be all and end all for me frankly is his handle. Rafer despite his weaknesses was safe as a house with the ball. But it's 6 of one and half a dozen of the other as was with Rafers ridiculous shooting When you're playing the role that Lin has to play (cause frankly he doesnt have the truely elite athleticism/skill of the top tier PGs) you're job is to not **** up and play smart D, hit open shots, all that.
Not sure why you only include December when we're halfway though January? Where were you Friday when Lin had a very solid game, a team high-18 pts, 6 assists, 3 rebounds, 4 steals, 2 blocks in a Lakers win over the Magic? Non of these trolls were here on Friday. LOL Haters gonna hate.
Weird that there are some "rockets fans" who post exclusively in this thread and never even venture outside of it to post a single thing about the Rockets. Not even trying to be a smartass... I genuinely find it confounding, especially for folks who have been here for the better part of a decade.
