I've seen that called incomplete many times, definitely more than once with Andre. I don't think there's anything controversial at all about it. Whether the rule is stupid or not is another story. That aside, Dallas deserved to lose.
Clear possession and took three steps. Worst call I have ever seen. Imagine my surprise at all of you people screaming about a bad call last week and now just think something ten times worse is fine and dandy. But whatever. They had too many mistakes prior to that, missed field goal, Murray's fumble. But they came ready to play and win today, and had it in their grasp. Very disappointing. Such a shame the refs had to have such a big direct influence on the outcome of both games.
Lol. It's rules like that that will keep the NFL popular in America only. International fans aren't going to get into a sport that changes its rules whenever it pleases itself.
You don't ever have to apologize for being obnoxious- it's sports- I'm watching the game at a bar in Lubbock, and there is a packer fan and cowboy fan swinging at each other in the parking lot. And now the cops are here. And BTW, the packers fan won that one, too. Oh, Dallas, some days are better than others
It is a bad rule poorly defined but I could show you 2 or 3 plays like this from the past that were called the same way. Stupid rule, but consistent.
agree with Surfguy, Dez easily could have rolled over to land on his back and protect the ball from the ground. Mistake to lunge for endzone. Also agree with Commodore, that the lunge was a "football move." tough call. anyone have a good vid of it?
I think that's more about Megatron's catch vs the Bears than it is about last week's game. They know the feeling of when a DUMB rule is used.
Mental mistakes like that lose you ball games. They added up in this game...from the 3rd and 1 changed run-to-pass in the first half when Murray is 3-for-3 on 3rd and 1 prior...to Romo holding on to the ball taking huge losses on sacks to put first downs out of reach...to what Dez did. Those alone were too much to overcome. Bottom line...Cowboys were not mature enough overall experience-wise to finish this game with a win. GB did enough to win but they didn't really take it as much as everyone thought they would. It came down to a few key plays...like a lot of games do.
i think they were out of timeouts by then but still can be viewed by the booth only that there were a little more than 2 minutes left so that was a no go.
All you Houston fans really think you can lay it on here? Give me a break. It's in one ear and out the other with you Houston fans.
Actually, the officials are VERY consistent in calling it.... its why the rule is in place, as it makes every catch less subjective. If you have a hard-fast rule on what is a catch and what isn't (and by the rules, this wasn't), you take the personal interpretation out of the decision making process.
