Dmo has become untouchable IMO. Wouldn't even trade him for Gogi.

Personally I don't think dragic is worth dmo IMO and I think dragic is a stud. My own reasons aside, team fit wise the drop off for us in letting dmo go would be far greater than the upside we get in acquiring dragic.

    Dmo/Smith/KPap (Jones) PF + Bev/Terry/Canaan PG rotation >>> Smith/KPap/Jones + Dragic/Bev/Canaan

I'm all for keeping DMO. But Rudy T had The Dream, Harden or Dwight aren't close to that level right now.

As preposterous as it sounds, Harden is quickly approaching that level. We are watching a guy that is gonna go down as an all-timer.

The Dream was an absolute beast on both ends of the court and had the advantage of being guard like in a center's body. Harden still needs to prove he can play good defense for multiple seasons before we can start having that talk.

Draymond Green, Hayes, Rodman disagrees. Faried was exposed because his strength is help defense and not one one one.

Reality is that when TJones comes back DMo becomes expendable as a trade asset. Expect a move at the trade deadline for a starting caliber point guard. Not enough playing time for TJ, DMo, and Smith at the PF position.

Lowry is the better player. Would trade him for Lowry even as filler

I love this dude's game. We probably have to ship either Dmo or Tjones, it's tough to see these guys develop into solid players from their rookie season then get shipped off.

That's pretty ridiculous. That's like saying as soon as Shved gets back up to speed Patrick Beverley becomes expendable as a trade asset....

Rockets developed DMO and TJones well, but either of them now are to good to sit on the bench. And they have huge value, so rockets should decide what to keep. If not J.Smith there would be plenty of time for both, because DMO can play center.

You are new here, so I'll give you a pass.

There is no D-Mo vs Jones anymore. D-mo is a much better player. Now we certainly want Jones back because he could really help us, but just because a guy comes back it doesn't make the superior player expendable, and D-Mo is the superior player. We will find a way to get Jones 15-20 minutes off the bench.

Say 30 for Dwight, 25 for D-mo and Smith, and 16 for Jones. Keeps guys fresh, and insurance for foul trouble.

Actually - DMo is great, and has a wonderful future but so does TJones - who was beasting before injury.

I think the odd man out is JSmooth....he won't be back next year anyway.

    LOL no he's not.

Unless Jones has vastly improved his D, Smith is a better player. Josh Smith is a defensive stud.

The problem with retaining Smith is that we won't have his Bird rights so we won't be able to offer him all that much money. I could see him sticking around if he's happy playing on a contender with Dwight, but it's far from a given. If someone offers him a big bag of cash (for whatever crazy reason) I think he'd take it.

    We can offer the MLE.

He only gets half until his Detroit contract is up anyway

I didn't say he would be back, just that he isn't gonna be mothballed when Jones gets back.

I still think Smith is gonna be extremely valuable by years end once he's comfortable, and maybe price himself out of the MLE.
