Ah okay thanks it bugged me more than anything else that I couldn't get the math to work out. So the difference in bevs cap hold is about 1.7m + 3 roster spots (2.8m) which comes out to 4.5 that I didn't account for (the difference between 15m and 10.5m in cap space). If they REALLY wanted to create more space they could try to trade ariza, jones, and Capela for no salary in return while keeping KPap at least for the wing position to create $14m in space. Still don't think that's enough to get you dragic in FA, but it's nothing to sneeze at either. The only reason I think this is relevant is to see if they can create the threat of having the space to sign Dragic, which is what would leverage Phx into having to consider trading him at the deadline. If they hold onto him and miss the playoffs, he'd be a huge flight risk if we had the space to chase him. Other teams may have plenty of cap space but can't offer immediate contention. If we can offer both or close to both we have a ton of leverage. Well they've got 1.5 months to figure it out.....here's to hoping wright doesn't really keep them ahead of OKC at the deadline.
Their next 2 games are against Memphis and Cleveland (LeBron might be back), before they play a couple of gimmes vs the Lakers and Wolves. They traded for Wright now because they absolutely have to go .500 over the next 4 weeks. OKC is now only two games behind them.
From what I can piece together: 1. Morey would be interested in acquiring DWill IF DWill would waive away that player option for 2016. 2. DWill ain't waiving that player option. At least not right now. Perhaps Dwight talks him into it. But if not: Morey is most likely interested in helping facilitate a deal of DWill to Sac Town (or elsewhere) by possibly taking on a salary (Darren Collison or Jason Thompson) and getting an asset for doing so, which can then be sent to a 3rd team along with other contracts (plus possibly the Pels pick and/or Knicks pick) for our upgrade at PG.
By the way, in case the last of the Mohicans hasn't seen the light. We're not playing 2015 free agency with cap space. We're playing it with trade-able assets. So in your trade scenarios you might as well consider the possibility of adding a contract that lasts through next season. Corey Brewer option out of his player option? To make him trade-able as an expiring. That's what that is about.

Well you also have to think about their possibility of flipping him for something they want. Boston didn't want Brandan Wright, but they accepted him in trade for Rondo because they knew they could flip him for more picks later. The Suns could do something similar.
