It looked like he hurt his ankle on that block he had that was eventually called a goaltend...... Not sure tho
Shved had to good drives to the basket that got him to the line. He also was giving good defensive effort. At this point all we need Shved to do is play well enough to keep Terry's minutes in the low 20s, that's it. Anything else he does beyond that is gravy.
Ha, it's too bad we have a stretch of nothing but tough opponents for the next week or two. I have to apologize for not being clear. I focus on defense because I think that's what this team is about. I think the same about Josh Smith, but his bad defensive position seems to be made up by incredible rebounding. Hopefully game 3 against the Spurs will awaken the Alexey, but I don't have too much hope yet. It looks like he needs 3 or 4 practices to get our defensive style down. As soon as I saw his highlights, I thought the same thing. The dude seems to flourish in the pick and roll.
Lol, Alexey looked like ass out there. I'd rather throw Canaan out there and hopefully he gets into a rhythm like earlier this season.
The guy can attack the basket and get to the line at will IMO. Will help the team once he gets settled in. Can hit the open 3 also. Don't give up on him yet like many of you guys gave up on Dmo.
Shved has a lot of potential. And it'll be rather hard for him to integrate into the team. But I expect good things from him soon. Most people just want instant results and don't see the impact that players like D-Mo, Papa, Shved can have after they acclimate to a team.
Shved. Massive talent. That's why the Rox had to pony up so much to make him the centerpeice of a trade. He is obviously a powerful talent as can be seen in his rumored abandonment of his NBA contract to return to Russia.

Hopefully the starters blow the Jazz out early so he can get some solid minutes. With all the hype around this kid I'd like to see what he can do for us.
Is there hype around Shved? Can anyone link me to any scouting reports on his strengths and weaknesses? I know nothing about him. A quick google search didn't pull anything useful for me.
When I saw him play with the Wolves, he reminded me of a smaller Hayward. Can drive to the basket, deceptively quick, had very good vision/passing and can hit the trey when left open. Handles acceptable enough to play the point, shoots well enough to play the 2 and tall enough to maybe play the 3 for a short period of time. I am guessing this is what coach is seeing in practice which is why he is high on him.
That sounds good to me. In the (very limited) minutes we've seen on the Rockets he sort of trotted around on the perimeter, made dinky hand-off passes, and didn't show anything. Maybe it's the adjustment period.
