I got it in Best Buy's buy two get one free deal from last month. I haven't done any online stuff but the little bit I have played is fun and the game looks amazing. Jaw droppingly so.
<iframe width="560" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/_7SbgvtBDCQ" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> New trailer for Order 1886. This game has looked better and better to me over the recent months. Got some best buy certificates and GCU so this will probably be day one for me.
I want to play it, but I'm seriously concerned that it's another hype fest. When I saw their demos (which they essentially did the same one 8 times) the AI was horrendous. I'm sure the game has improved since then, but I'm waiting for reviews. Especially after this bull**** with DriveClub, Knack, and Killzone: Shadow Fall. Red dawn definitely hasn't proven they can make a console AAA game yet, I hope it is as good as it looks -- because it looks awesome.
I'm gonna try to have faith since they delayed the game to supposedly make it better, but of course Driveclub was delayed too so who knows how it'll turn out. If it's bad it only costs me $40 and then I can trade it in for $40
http://www.forbes.com/sites/insertc...o-review-embargoes-delivers-no-review-copies/ Really guys? REALLY? I actually did pre-order this because I'm pretty confident I'll like it. But after this, I called Gamestop to clarify their returns policy. Since I can't return a new game for my money back if it came to that, apparently what I can do is wait a few days for reviews to go up... and if they all suck, I can still take my money off the pre-order as long as I never actually picked it up. It still seems likely to me that I'll enjoy the game, but this kind of thing definitely puts a bad taste in my mouth.
There was something posted on NeoGaf late last night about a glitch on gamestop's website. Apparently if you bought the $20 season pass from their website the code you gets unlocks the full game. Since I was up I gave it a try. Paid the $20 online got the instant digital code. Went to my PS4 to give it a try and lo and behold it gave me the full game. I let it download over night and played a little this morning. Wish every new game was $20 I'd buy them all crappy or not, haha
Hahahahahahahhaahaha this is AWESOME. I was at gamestop yesterday to buy a headset adapter for my xbox, and the (typical giant simpsons fanboy looking guy) cashier starts talking dying light up telling me I need to preorder it since it's coming out tonight (last night). He claimed that it's getting great reviews talking about potentially game of the year, and his "friend" got a review copy but he can't say who he is so it won't get him in trouble. I just told him I don't trust reviews after last year, or techland (the developer), and it looks meh as **** (I didn't tell him that last part, but I was certainly thinking it). Looks like I was right, ****ing hate the people they hire at gamestop nowadays.
I've never been in a Gamestop that didn't have an employee who closely resembled Comic Book Guy in either appearance, attitude, or both.
Lol very true but at my gamestop I've seen a couple of cute chicks working there. New management has taken over.
Where is this one? Haha. I have 4 within a 3 mile radius and all have nothing but mongloids working for them. Westheimer/eldridge is actually a very nice store though, awesome people.
I don't go to gamestop as much anymore since i got the best buy GCU deal. But back when I went there was one guy that was cool to talk to about games and understood I didn't want to be sold BS I don't need. They used to have cute chicks but the one chick that worked their recently had no real gaming knowledge and honstely wasn't that cute either, haha. I have to blame their selling practices on the company more so then the people that work there though. They have to push any crap they can to try to keep their store afloat I guess. Once I pick up my preorder of the Batman:LE this summer from them I will never need to go in a Gamestop again.
Yeah, gs is definitely forcing them to push things on you. With that said it's different from flat out lying to a customer, that I have an issue with.
All salesman in every industry are taught to prey on the ignorant. It doesn't really bother me if they tell me about some game coming out because I rarely buy a game day one unless its something I am pretty damn excited about like Arkham Knight.
Back in ye olden days it was all about "and did you want to buy the guide for that?" Which has been replaced with "anything you want to pre-order? Game XYZ looks like the greatest thing ever!" Now they've also added "you're pre-approved for a Gamestop credit card!" Ugh, no. *Shiver.* But yeah, yay for outright lies. There were absolutely zero reviews up last night, which was my issue in the first place.
I feel bad for all the younger people that are going to get lured into that high interest card and then probably ruin their credit because its not explained to them correctly
Great list, but you forgot the current "Would you like to purchase the protection plan for this game, it is only $7.99?" No I do not want your dumb protection plan, why in the hell would I waste money like that?
Dude in front of me in line goes "I'll absolutely take it!". I was dumbfounded. I realize a lot of people don't take care of their games as good as I do (they're either in the console or in their case), but seriously? Just set the money on fire, it's more useful.
