The only way I can see Morey going after Williams, is if he is bought out by the Nets. I don't want him on the Rockets. He didn't go after him in December, and I doubt if he will do that now.
Just don't know that I believe it. Morey said something along the lines of how ridiculous it was that people were comparing DWill to CP3. There's two things I could believe about DWill: 1) That Morey would leverage him to either get a pick or lower the price for Dragic 2) That Dwight's camp would push for DWill.
Now THAT would be a different matter entirely. If DWill is waived and stretched like Smith, I could definitely see the Rockets pursuing him. Otherwise, nope.
Calderon would be very interesting. He would provide help in areas of need: Assists, low turnovers, high 3 % shooting, high FT shooting. Not sure about his defense at this point in his career but he would be a better offensive starting option than Beverly. Beverly is much better suited off the bench. I could see us getting in the top 8-10 overall in offensive efficiency if we add Calderon.
We need a point guard who can get off his own shot... The western point guards have to commit on the defensive side against us. They baby sit our point guards at the 3 pt line. Lillard in the playoffs devoted all his energy on the offensive side of the ball.
Didn't they report yesterday that Deron Williams has a fractured rib? And is out indefinitely? Right. We are definitely going to trade 3-4 key rotation pieces for him.
Derron Williams would not get Morey fired. He is on solid ground. Morey and Les have not saddled this team with McHale, they can fire him whenever they want. It wouldn't be the first time that a coach was let go while still being owed money. Concerning Bosh..... yeah we dont need that 22/8 on only 16 shots and shooting 40% on 3's this year. He wouldnt help at all... thank God we didn't get him. As for Melo, no one knows HOW hurt he really is, the Knicks want to shut him down to tank.
You seriously think Les will fire McHale anytime soon if this team underachieves? No way in hell does he eat that contract. I could see him firing him with one year left on the deal(which would be 2 1/2 years from now), but he is not going to pay him off and then simultaneously pay a new coach the same amount or more. We're stuck with the guy through at least the 2016-17 season. As for Bosh, I'm not saying he's not a good player. But he's openly admitted he doesn't want the pressure of delivering a title and he's done very little to help the Heat win this season in a weak Eastern Conference. I don't think the Rockets would be better than 25-11 right now had he signed here(especially given how our bench would've been gutted in the process). Melo is hurt. Maybe not enough to warrant shutting it down. But if he was healthy, he'd be playing. It's not like the Knicks were winning with him in the lineup, so their tank job was going just fine.
Brandan Wright just got traded to the Suns, so I'm guessing fleecing a PG from there is now even more unlikely. Waiting to hear from Plowman on this
Lawson and Harden. That would be a nasty back court. Lawson Harden Ariza Jones Howard That's a great squad!
