What drives me nut is KD Paul and LBJ all do the same flailing the arms looking for calls stuff but knowone says anything about them? Hell Paul and KD are the worst at it
Yeah there is now he didn't see that. Oh well hopefully we start running plays tp get him some open shots
I love when couch jockeys like J.R. impugn a pro athlete's manhood as if they know a f-ing thing about what it takes to make it to and thrive in the NBA like Harden has. The Rockets win? Nope, not good enough. It's never enough.
Harden needs to just change his approach! Make his arms small so he looks like a T-Rex when he drives into the paint! Stop being a p***y!
It's all inconsistency with the officiating, the league officiating is terribly inconsistent, even possession to possession let alone game to game. If they basically decide that they aren't going to call fouls on James because they think he gets too many free throws though, we are ****ed.
the refs aren't doing the no calls both ways, they're calling him for charges on blocking fouls (see Butler)
This definitely has me frustrated. The league just gave teams the easy way out. Harden's lay-up form was created to be a fouls magnet. It's not like he is unstoppable. There has been times were weak side help shuts down Harden's effectiveness. Example that I've seen do it best: A.Davis. You defend without trying to steal or block and then the weak side blocks the shot. This however is total hacking, but Rockets player can't do it back. Howard can't even post up or it's an offensive foul. Vent.
Don't get the crying. Every player in this league b****es and moans about calls. Harden gets most calls from stick his arms out and defenders reach. Or he collides with guys at angle to get the blocking call (no different to the guys who fall over to get calls). There are bigger issues in the league than how Harden draws fouls with the flopping and falling in this league.
JR definitely has videos where Harden is playing it up like Paul does. Those are straight flops. However, those are not the non-calls anyone is complaining about. Harden is known (and respected) for his strong drives into the lane where he takes real contact. Suddenly those calls have disappeared and it coincides with Bullard saying on the air that teams had complained to the league office about him getting too many free throws. Those fake fouls are the ones he gets when he gets a ridiculous 20 free throw attempts. I'm not asking for him to get that, but he should be getting 8-15. Suddenly he's at 6 or lower despite continually driving into the lane.
James, McHale or both have got to get aggressive to combat this garbage. Next time he gets mugged and no called Harden needs to get a tech. Make it worth it too. Kobe would go through this and he'd jaw until he got a tech then he'd get calls again.
With regards to flopping, I'm sure 99% of the players who get significant playing time has flopped or attempted to flop at least once. It's not just Harden.
Harden is very skilled. When he isn't getting the calls, he can try and make a layup and use his improved mid range shot. He doesn't need to only take 3's as an alternative. The calls will eventually start to come his way again.
I have never been a LOF, but I feel sad that the flashes that Harden and Lin showed of creating mismatches, shooting and passing while playing together in 2013 never materialized successfully. James' 46 points, and Lin's 29 point display against OKC lead to great excitement. Bev has been awesome, but we need another player who can bring creativity alongside Harden in the backcourt. Patrick can be effective off the bench.
I'm not sure i'd call the first one as a foul, he's dribbling the ball and the arm miller hits is the other one, that's probably a good no call, it's not really a hack or a fend off, the love one though.... I'd be sort of curious how someone like Dan or Joey Crawford are now calling him, we've been getting a lot of trash inexperienced ref teams.
None of them will take a tech, I hate that. Dwight will get a tech for BS, but McHale just sits there while we get mugged. Get in the refs face!
Pretty sure Harden is driving to the basket on the first one, so it's a pretty obvious reach-in foul and an impediment to Harden's drive since his arms make contact across the body. I can excuse the non-calls when Harden drives, creates contact to the side or back of a defender and kinda just falls down. The hacks/reach-ins on his drives though should always be called because those are all clear fouls, but there's plenty of times where refs aren't blowing the whistle.
