I get that they're trying to speed up the game and not call light contact fouls but it gets pretty out of hand when people get away with blatantly hitting the players on the arms. Eventually the league refs will get heckled into calling fouls again.

Harden should continue playing the way he's playing. Y'all shut up. He's going to figure it out. He's the reason the Rockets are a sort of threat every game. Live by Harden and Die by Harden.

Just change it up, someone need to tell Harden he ain't getting the fouls. Just get that pick and roll going and take jumpers at the free throw line. That's money all game.

I think the league has made a decision to force the Rockets to change the way they play the game. Nobody outside of Houston seems to like the 3PT or FTs scheme, and it is obvious they are giving us a different set of rules than our opponents.

I don't mean to sound like sour grapes, but the last 2 games were over the top ridiculous. After 1 game I'd say it was bad officiating, at this point it has become a trend.

J.R. Might wanna stick to breaking news.

Calling arguably the MVP of the league a p***y ass isn't exactly a valid point.

Lol... Was a joke because your posting completely out of character, but ok I'll take the bait.

Harden has learned to manipulate the rules to his benefit. I applaud him for this first of all because it shows knowledge of the rules and basketball iq. And I'm not only talking about drawing contact but also the late gather which is crucial to the eurostep. It's not like it's easy and doesn't take skill. It is incredibly difficult to master the late gather and takes massive strength to absorb the contact and maintain the ball when outstretching his arms and hold the ball to draw contact (which he does lose often for TOs).

The euro actually leads to a lot of fouls, but no one hates him, nor Wade nor manu for it. No one hates the many of players that run into a defender to his side and drawing a foul like Irving does and others.

Harden has been a whipping boy because of his defense, but now he exerts effort. So people still have the notion to dislike him so they point at the FTA. Yet fail to realize all the best players have high FTA/g. Durant Lebron etc...

I also don't get the belief that it is a boring brand of basketball. To me it's like a good chess move, not pretty but effecient. I think it's a great strategy. Foul trouble leads to backup players and lesser competition and free shots and points, leading to a higher probability for a win. As a rockets fan i love this style of play, and if he was an opponent I would be frustrated but respect its smart beauty.

Hell, I want him looking and trying to draw more fouls, but the only thing I hate is when he doesn't try to finish. He always tries to finish BTW IMO, except when he is frustrated. only when he looses the ball or its knocked out does he flail and try to strictly garner a foul call without trying to finish otherwise.

    Peace.

One hard a** hack in particular tonight from Love on Harden was ridiculous. On the replay the ref is looking right at it with a front row view. Harden isn't the leader in and 1 completions just cause he gets the whistle a lot. It's cause he drives to get contact and then finish the bucket through the contact. And he very often bulls through some bruiser hacks to get the bucket. I can't stand that "make a real play" "stop playing for the foul" nonsense. Harden is tough.

This is the adjustment that needs to be made when refs aren't calling fouls when Harden is getting mauled:

Our bigs just need to just push people to the ground, and get some really rough, physical fouls on the opponent team on their next possession. Force the refs to do their damn job by threatening to take the game out of their control.

What happened in the Bulls game should never happen again. McHale should throw a chair onto the court.

Actually, yes, you can blame the NBA. Do you remember "the hand is part of the ball"? Who made that rule toast? The NBA. The refs just stop calling anything against him, it's pretty maddening.

I couldn't have said it any better myself. Plus, I think the refs may have heard a little (or a lot) complaining from opposing coaches and players and have decided to call a few of the questionable ones against Harden.
I think this will correct itself over time.
Harden is an artist at this. So teams are going to double-up on him and make other Rockets beat them.

JR is riled up. Gotta love it.

Never seen so much emotion from the objective news breaker.

Flopping and flailing and looking for the ref whistle to bail you out, yeah, that's p***y ass ****. If you like that stuff, cool!

That's not just Harden. Kevin Martin, Kevin Durant, Chris Paul, whoever.

    Someone check on James!

However, he was not flailing or flopping here.

Better he learn to adjust to the no calls now than in the playoffs.

Liking it, and accepting it are two very different things. I don't like Hack a Shaq, but until they change the rules its a part of the game. Don't hate the player or team that exploits the rules. Hate the rules and the NBA for not doing a damn thing about it.

Wow J.R. those all look so recent... I keep forgetting Fisher plays for okc still

This is a true testiment to how he currently plays. Similar to how that video proves harden is bad defender and doesn't give effort. Still...

You win. You are much more up to date and knowledgeable than I. while I'm obviously biased and your not.

I want to say that the officials are treating him differently.

Here is an example from tonight's game from the "Rockets 24/7" page on Facebook:
