You're right, but watching this team I still worry even when they play well it's not enough to come out of the west. I've watched a lot of basketball and to win a 7 game series takes a lot. I really think Houston needs a better PG, I'm not sure if Dragic is the answer but they definitely could use someone who could pass the ball down low, so we wouldn't have to rely on Harden all the time in crunch time. I did like the effort tonight, lots of players on the scoreboard.

I just feel until I see them do something against a major opponent I won't feel great. I love watching the team win or lose, I just want them to beat a tough team like OKC/GSW convincingly.

My fricken DVR did not record the game, looking at the stats, looked like JSmith had a great game, as did Dwight and DMo.

    Our bigs coming around.....good.

And its january, we haven't even reached the allstar break yet. As a team you want to peak towards the playoffs. I'd rather they struggle now and figure out the wrinkles than play perfect and collapse in april and flame out.

And come on stop with the dragic bull****. Phoenix is currently in the playoff race and chances are they will be fighting for that seed till the end of the season. Why the **** would they trade their best player for a pu pu platter of average players/picks? Making the playoffs brings Phoenix additional revenue and makes them a better destination for a bigman that they covet.

Loved the way Dwight played this game

If this team wants to go far, he has to step up as a consistent #2 scorer. Right now he isn't playing like the best center. When his offense is rolling though, no other center in the league comes close to matching how dominant he can be.

Dwight showed why we paying him the big bucks. Big rebounds, monster dunks. That's how we will go far. We need to keep that going.

No ****... I don't think Dragic is coming here either. And you're right it's better to peak at the playoffs. I just don't like how last year and this year it's like some things are going great and other things still need a lot of work. I know chemistry will get better for sure. But I feel like Houston doesn't have some proven leader, and Harden still shows that lapse where he seems like he's not interested... I don't know if it's fatigue sometimes or this bs the refs are doing. Like he's not getting the FT's and we all know what happens then.

Beverly has played good the 2 games prior to tonight. It's hard for Beverly to compete offensively with star PGs because he's going to be using all his energy on defense.

To add... I guess the other thing is the Rockets in some games still play like it's a rec game/preseason. If you look at old teams you knew every night Hakeem was going to post up, on here though they don't seem consistent all the time, like some nights it's ISO repeatedly or some PNR, or jacking 3's. I don't think they can go into the playoffs like that and I am glad there's a lot more time left. Hopefully McHale will figure the solid rotations out (I like what I see lately) and the team can find some real go to plays. Like set plays they know will work, you can't always rely on hero ball unless you have a superstar performance every night. Harden is probably the closest thing to that, but I worry they're going to burn him out before the playoffs.

    I agree.

This is the same Rockets team that beat teams like Memphis and hung with Golden State without Howard and Jones so I'm not giving Cavaliers are pass because Lebron didn't play tonight. In fact, Irving was Inspired and went off so there ya have it. Irving doesn't "get off" if Lebron is playing.

good win. i like seeing our skilled, proven bench players like Josh, Brewer, and Terry do their part. Now if we can get Canaan and/or Shved in the mix...

If you recall, the Rockets were forcing a lot of tough shots. Cleveland was hitting something like 30% overall, but around 40% for 3 pointers into the second quarter. Then Irving went off and made a *lot* of tough jumpers. On the offensive side, the Rockets just couldn't knock down open jumpers for a little while there. The only guy who played poorly was Harden for a lot of the game.

Good points. In that GSW game Houston looked good till last few min, I was impressed that night by their play for sure. Memphis was another great example. I really do think Houston has a shot this year, I'm just anxious for it to all click. And definitely agree, with LeBron playing changes how Cleveland plays, Irving would have been deferring more to LBJ.

Just wait until you watch the game. The first 3 quarters were miserable.

Good to see Dwight dominate in the 4th Q. Let's hope he repeats this against the Gasols and Duncans of the NBA.
