The card was clearly bent, and Stern took the time to dig it out then tried to fix the corner without anyone noticing it, but everyone in the room knew he just gave the Knicks Patrick Ewing. All of this nonsense I bolded clearly suggests you think I am crazy. I will be blunt and say I think you are crazy if you think that draft was not predetermined. That is why I avoid these threads. We will not change each others mind so why bother? Calling me a truther also suggests you are a teenager.
Yes because this is a Rockets forum and the discussion here centers on the Houston Rockets. Were you aware of this? It seems not to be the case.
I'm getting tired of all of this Knee Jerk BS. I wish the phrase had never been invented. The nature of anything that happens to be on anyone's mind happens after a similar event occurs in real life. Thinking or pondering about something after it happens is not a knee jerk reaction. It's a natural reaction, something that we all do and we should do. It's a question not a statement. He didn't say THE NBA IS RIGGED!!, he asked if the NBA is rigged because of the nature of the last game we played. It's a normal question, one that after having seen certain events in the NBA should be asked. It's justifiable to believe that an organization which enjoys control as much as the NBA enjoys control could be rigged. The Cleveland Cavaliers have had 3 #1 picks since Lebron left and before Lebron they haven't had one in 2 decades. One can believe that those are coincidences but if you think critically about this and other things in the past it's not hard to believe that they would be rigged.
There is a lot of evidence to suggest the draft is rigged. I am not going to take the time to post it. All of these guys remind me of the Nazi soldiers walking around Germany and demanding papers.
You are right. Some People think that there are no such thing as conspiracies. As if you are crazy to believe that a big powerful organization could be doing something dirty. Gee that's never happened before, oh wait yeah it does, it actually happens all the time. The whole NBA may not be rigged but heir could be parts of it that are and I wouldn't be surprised at all of some of those things came to light.
I see this example a lot and I agree. For all that dismiss this as a one time thing, and it is pretty much confirmed. For every example where people get got there are many more examples that haven't been got. If the league has an agenda they will and can push it. If you think its rigged because of players getting paid off, well then take your tin hat and your metal straws and go find some water in the Mojave Desert.
Hilarious. None of them were bent when they went in the tumbler. The tumbler being that big rolling bubble that resulted in a bunch of cards coming down and landing on their sides and corners. Details, though, right? Nice little quip at the end, though. I'll give you credit for being the first person to suggest that "truther" is a term reserved for the teenage demographic.
So, as a former college basketball official are you admitting to "fixing" games? If you did not personally "fix" games, at the very least, since you know for a fact the "fixing" of games occurred, did you report it to the FBI or some other policing agency?
Asking for evidence to the bold claim of systematic fixing/rigging of games and draft order by the NBA is akin to Nazi soldiers demanding papers? Godwin's Law in full-effect, here.
Okay, HardenHardon I gave you a video, you choose to see and believe what you want to see and believe. It's okay, I want you to stay here. You already said you wouldn't be a fan if the officials manipulated games so welcome.
This is getting rich. You provided a video of Stern drawing a card that appears to have a bent corner. Nothing more. I can give a perfectly reasonable explanation for why the card had a bent corner based on the rest of the video, because, you know, there is evidence to substantiate it. Your theory relies on tin-foil, what-ifs, and the blatant disregard of rationality. What I want to see is evidence to substantiate a claim. That video doesn't even come remotely close to validating your claim. I'm curious now, though: 1. Was Michael Jordan's retirement the result of him making a deal with the NBA to avoid getting formally suspended? 2. Who was REALLY behind the attacks on 9/11? My tin-foil hat is on. You may proceed.
If this poll were posted after the Rockets won a game with some questionable calls by the refs, do you think the results would be the same? Better yet, take it over to the Chicago fan forum and post the poll. Think 75% will say the NBA is rigged?
Agree 100%. I'll even go a step further. I believe any organization generating a tons of millions of dollars each year (or more) participates or has participated in SOME form of corruption. It's impossible not to have occured. There is virtually no way the NBA has not rigged ONE game since it's existence. The REAL reason I think Donaghy didn't name names is because he either A) Feared for his life & B) has close friends that are CURRENTLY making careers off rigging games, and he doesn't want to hurt. However, I think rigging games is VERY hard to do from a ref's perspective, and only a small percentage of games have been successfully rigged throughout the history of sports.
Both of you trolls were clearly absent on the day your school taught "critical thinking." Read carefully: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Critical_thinking
