    Denver as a team makes sense to target considering their situation. So yeah, players like Lawson and Afflalo look like they could be in play.

    I personally think OKC is going to lose Jackson in RFA and that is specifically why they made the play for Waiters.

    Yes, Denver should be quite active between now and the Feb 19 trade deadline. For sure goners are Arron Afflalo and Wilson Chandler. Ty Lawson and Danilo Gallinari can be had for the right price, though (IMO). Gallinari could probably play the "stretch four" role in this Rockets offense and is a guy who Morey is looking at (again, IMO). Houston can offer Denver what it wants, too: draft picks, cheap/young players with perceived upside, and expiring contracts.

    I agree with you here, too. I think Reggie Jackson is being quietly shopped right now. I do not believe Houston is a suitor, though.

    We may see Houston acquire TWO of the four Nuggets players mentioned above on 2/19, either a Lawson-Gallinari package or an Afflalo-Gallinari package. Or maybe Lawson-Chandler, or Afflalo-Chandler. All Rockets fans should tune into a Nuggets game or two.

    Gallo is out indefinitely with a meniscus tear. I'd cross him off your list.

    Why pay a declining Lawson (check his stats) when you've got Canaan at 1/12th the salary?

    I think we've already made our "wing" trade with Brewer. Don't see us giving up additional assets for Chandler. Plus, that tattoo of what looks like a baby on his neck freaks me out.

    That leaves Afflalo. Not a bad player, but he doesn't really solve our need for a 2nd facilitator.

    I say no on all of the above.

    I could see Afflalo as a Phoenix 3-way thing, though. Dragic being the obvious choice to come to Houston.

    You mean someone like Aaron Brooks or Canaan?

    Can you imagine how unstoppable we would have been if we would have held on to Nikola Mirotec instead of trading his rights to twolves

    Or a three-way between Houston, Phoenix, and Denver that sends Dragic to Houston, Lawson to Phoenix, and picks/prospects/expiring contracts to Denver. Lawson is younger than Dragic and, unlike Dragic, is under contract beyond this season.

    Again, keep an eye on the Nuggets, that team should be very active between now and Feb 19. Arron Afflalo, Wilson Chandler, and Timofey Mozgov should all be goners, maybe Ty Lawson and Danilo Gallinari, too. Rebuild around Kenneth Faried and whatever young players you get via trade. That team's payroll is pretty big yet they are headed back to the lottery. The alternative is to fire Brian Shaw and see if you can get better results under a different head coach, maybe Mike D'Antoni.

    This works:

    Ty Lawson to Phoenix;

    Goran Dragic to Houston;

    Donatas Motiejunas and Jason Terry (plus maybe the Pelicans first round pick) to Denver

    What makes you so hot on Denver? Besides the obvious, lousy record/lousy coach/lousy payroll/LA FB stadium?

    Dragic is not coming here. It's like have not been watching him and Bledsoe kill it the past few weeks. FYI they are what just a few games behind us? They will be making the playoffs they are not teasing their best player.

    I believe this is our squad to live or die with for the test of the season

    Not saying Dragic is coming here -- but how do you see PHX making the playoffs? OKC is 2 games behind them. Who do you see falling out of the picture for PHX to creep back in? I'd imagine it'd have to be either us or the Clips....

    Cyberx -- why didn't we chase Pau? Clearly Morey had a boner for him at one point and we had room -- was it solely that he didn't want to play with Dwight? He'd be perfect for us right now at the 4 or backup 5, as he's probing with chicago

    Cyber said Pau doesn't think highly of Dwight.

    My brain is not functioning today but when and why did we trade away his rights?

    Chicago has NO INCENTIVE to move Pau. He's a key cog in their championship aspirations and is playing out of his mind right now. Be realistic.

    Probably meant as a free agent.

    He's not a free agent until 2016 at the earliest. Unrealistic.

    Trouble reading?

    He was a free agent this past offseason.

    EMCity asked Cyberx -- why didn't we chase Pau?
