    He does some good, and I'm sure he's done some shameful things as well. He serves as a nice distraction for people who don't want to focus on the issues of race and his name is often brought up to deflect. It happens like clockwork.

    He is an entertainer and always has been.

    Sometimes with good intentions, sometimes out of ignorance... the narrative is "well we need the african american voice on this issue" and Reverend Al is more than happy to play the part.

    He is a polarizing figure even among african americans.

    This kind of thinking is dangerous. I would hope the individuals that actually look up to him are able to approach his views with some amount of skepticism or it just makes bribes much more effective.

    EDIT: Its really hard to detect sarcasm on the internet.

    He wouldn't exist if these racial issues were handled in any type of even handed, transparent way whatsoever. A lot of the people that are quick to call him a racial hustler or whatever tend to be the ones who are the most shady and willfully ignorant when it comes to racial issues.

    Every minority group have people that represent them against discrimination or injustice. If Martin Luther King was alive today in the information age the Media would Kill him just like they do Sharpton. This message is to everyone who thinks this man can do no right.....Tell me somethings that he has accomplished or things that he has done right?


    That's right...The only thing you care to know are what others have passed down to you and what the Conservative media has put out there about him.
