Has anyone done this before? You're locked in a room for an hour and are tasked with puzzles to get out. How was it? Worth the 20 bucks? http://www.houstonescaperoom.com/
we are actually going to do this some a team building activity some time over the next month. It's a little hokey, but i'm also intrigued.
Apparently escape rooms are a trend now all over the country. LA and NY have started them, and most have been inspired by brain teaser applications on the iPad. Btw, anyone know where I can find good brain teasers/riddles online?
haha not denying that. gotta amp up my riddle solving skills though nonetheless. you know, not in prep for the escape room or anything...
Went to one a while back. It's pretty fun if you can get a group of friends to go with you as you can rent the whole allotted time to just your group. There are some basic guidelines/rules they have like anything marked with blue tape means don't touch. Otherwise everything and I mean everything in the room is free game to touch/examine. It's challenging and fun at the same time and really makes you think outside of the box. If you don't make it out or solve the puzzle they'll show you how at the end. I'd recommend it to try at least once.
It's fun. They were still tweaking the one room they had last month--trying to get the difficulty level right--and they're supposed to be adding new rooms this month. We didn't completely solve the puzzle (no group had done so yet), and the solution is so complicated I wouldn't have been able to solve the puzzle even if they stuck me back in the room immediately after them explaining it to us. So, you're not going to figure it out, but it's worth $20.
On that note, what's the point of any "fun" activity that doesn't serve alcohol? There's a bowling alley near my house that doesn't even serve beer! What in the f***.
I did it in Taipei, we were at the very end and barely missed the mark on solving our puzzle which was about a pilot who was making terrorist attacks. Overall it was a fun experience and everybody enjoyed it.
