You forget that Lebron must approve all personnel moves. Do you think he wants to play with Dwight Howard? Not likely. I don't think veteran stars are all that interested in having Dwight as a teammate. The Cavs will put it all together this season. They can trade the first round pick they just received from Oklahoma City to Denver for Timofey Mozgov, whose salary can be absorbed via a trade exception. Cleveland should be right there with Atlanta, Toronto, Chicago, and Washington by early March. Getting rid of Dion Waiters was a start. I cannot believe they received anything valuable for that guy. They are going to turn Dion Waiters into Timofey Mozgov, Iman Shumpert, and J.R. Smith. Amazing!
I would rather have Howard's defense then Love's offense. Ppl on this board forgets Howard's dominance during playoffs ( when it really matters) and i do think he's just coasting combined with health issues that slowing him down. If you want to compare Orlando Howard to Rockets then you need to factor the age difference and the wear and tear on his body.
It looks as if James will have a job long after his playing career is over if this is his doing. Every team should take note.
Want but contract. it's too high to match via trade without giving up papa, brewer, or terry. If we did a three team trade and got something else out of it though (considering the rest of the Knicks roster is useless) then maybe
Third team OKC with Reggie Jackson going to the Knicks? Calderon and perhaps Morrow to the Rockets? OKC has to many guards anyway now they traded for Waiters.
Calderon would be an upgrade but isn't the star that Morey would give up long term flexibility for. If he was an expiring , I could see it but considering his deal is this year and two more at ~$7m+ I don't think its likely.
I wanted him here a few months ago. Had this huge chart of him versus Goran Dragic and they came out equally statistically but everyone said Jennings' basketball IQ is too low and he's a bad locker room guy. Then we picked up Josh Smith Id take Jennings for cheap though.
Screw that, I Jackson is going out I want him on the Rockets. Good, young starting PG with a favorable contract. His cap hold is cheap enough that we could probably sign another solid player before re-signing him and Beverley with bird rights. Maybe someone like Milsap, or maybe we could use it to re-sign Smith and Brewer.
The dismantling of the Denver Nuggets is underway. Timofey Mozgov was traded today for two first round picks. My guess is that Denver will look to auction off the following players in exchange for as many draft picks, cheap/young players, and expiring contracts as possible: Ty Lawson Danilo Gallinari Arron Afflalo Wilson Chandler JaVale McGee J.J. Hickson Randy Foye Nate Robinson Darrell Arthur And that Denver intends to hold on to these guys: Kenneth Faried Jusuf Nurkic Gary Harris Guys who likely interest Houston: Ty Lawson Danilo Gallinari Arron Afflalo
With Ariza and Brewer is there any room for Gallo? I would love Lawson as an upgrade over Bev. A bench of Afflalo, Brewer, and Smith would just be insane depth.
I would absolutely love to get Lawson! He would be perfect for us and best of all would send Bev to the back up spot
This is really what we need to do, although I bolded who I think the Rockets would want. I would trade pretty much all the assets we have if we could get say Lawson and Faried.
