Well we can hope he's learned his lesson, but I think once someone is a rapist, they are always a rapist.

If '12 Gauge' keeps ballin so hard and goes pro... Mariota may not be the sure fire #1 pick _ or Tennessee may still have a good option _ or if Jones falls to 16 the Texans will have a quarterback to take if they want him...

OJ was "cleared" does that mean he's not a murderer?

Yup, and since she moaned, it's not rape. Two iron clad defenses.

Look I don't give two craps that you have a problem with some 20 year old you don't even know, that's your business. I've seen the stories, etc., and I believe in my opinion that he wasn't guilty. I'm not going to act like the guy is a Saint, but God Damn all I've seen is the Media and fans alike trying to constantly bash this kid for every single breath he takes. If you are seriously that pathetic that you have to spend your time hating on a person you don't even know, be my guest Mr. "Bobbythegreat".

Yeah, they're all over him every time he is accused of raping a woman, stealing, or shaving points. It's just so unfair, why can't they leave Brittney alone!

Let's be real, you wouldn't give two s**** about this kid if he wasn't a good college football player, since he is, you defend anything he does. It's pathetic.

    Just overheard this funny exchange:

GUY1: you know what would be poetic, hilarious, and awesome?
JC comes back for our first game vs the colts. Injures Luck on a sack.
GUY2: would be the best sports moment in a long long long time
GUY1: permanently cementing the legitimacy of JC's #1 pick status
GUY2: "it was a legal hit Marv, a classic hit, and Lucks leg just crumpled"
GUY1: ohh you hate to see that marv
    that was ugly
theres still bone fragments on the field....
GUY2: "they called out the trainer, I'm not lip reader but I think he is saying 'his career is over' "
GUY1: we are not gonna show the replay on this one folks.... I nearly lost my lunch on that one bob
GUY2: "it's official, the doctors are calling it a grade four career ending leg crumple"
GUY1: Oh thats just sick marv, some of the texans fans are cheering and celebrating
"well, to be fair bob, (quietly), this IS kind of a lucky break for the Texans.......(sheepishly) no pun intended"
GUY2: "it was a legal hit, they should be cheering. Luck is being carted off the field and the fans are clapping... oh wait, that's for Clowney"
GUY2: let's talk to this colts fan "The Texans franchise is superior to ours, no question"
GUY1: "wow bob ive never seen this before.... the colts coach is walking across the field to coach O brien.. whats he doing?"
"well marv, i may be wrong but he might be, YES he is! he just forfeited the game
GUY2: "now he is grabbing the gatoraid bucket and dumping it atop obrian"

Furthermore, I doubt if the woman that was in question was your daughter, you'd buy in to the "moaning equals consent" defense.

Good thing we're unbiased as the law should be. Learn the legal system because your point was terrible.

Yeah, because I defend raping women. I'm part of a secret society of men that condone the raping of women by athletes. Illuminati confirmed.

God, it's sad how delusional you are. When did I ever state that I defended any of his actions? I believe I said, I found him not guilty based on evidence and that he wasn't a saint. Forgive me for not slamming him a new butt hole like yourself. And i'm pretty sure the fact that he played for an almost undefeated team and was good was the exact reason why people go in on him. Hell, why do you think ESPN wanted the criminal records of all the FSU players? Because nothing gets you more buzz and article clicks than demonizing football players. Especially the good ones.

Bottom line, Winston can be an idiot (Oh my God, I just called the guy I constantly defend an idiot!) The Crab legs and other antics are idiotic. But he also is a very good leader in my opinion on the field, and he showed some quality characteristics you look for in a QB at the next level. That's why I have no problem drafting him if we had the opportunity. He has a lot more upside than Mariota if he could get his immaturity in check.

Oh well, it's nothing new for people to go to bat for athletes because they like the way they perform on the field. It's sad and pathetic, but not surprising. Let's just drop it and move on.

It's like your tiny brain saw three words, had a aneurysm and wen't like jdklafj;sdljfklasd;jfklajsfklajsf, and then just spouted out the same bs from before. I thought the point of an offseason thread was to discuss potential draft targets, trades, etc. that would be relevant options for the Texans. I guess not. I guess we should talk about Jerry Ricecake and every single FCS player entering the draft this year. We aren't allowed to wan't to draft potential impact players anymore.

You are allowed to want any player that you feel like wanting and I'm allowed to not want the Texans to draft a rapist. You've already said that you buy into his defense that the woman implied consent by moaning, I don't believe that a nearly unconscious woman can give consent in that manner. You think the woman is lying about being raped because you like Winston as a player, I think Winston is a terrible person for his actions. Can't we just leave it at that?

Let's have this thread be about actual potential Texans targets in the draft and the off-season moves the Texans make rather than it being about people defending rapists who have zero chance of ever being on the Texans.

It's worse to mention rape as casually or in jest. Regardless of if you think if he is guilty or not. To just say "women to rape" is pretty insensitive.

I don't mean it casually or in jest, I think he'd do it again and he might do it again. He blames the woman, and thinks he did nothing wrong. He likely truly believes that so long as a woman moans during sex that makes it consensual even if she gave no actual consent and was nearly unconscious during the attack. It's a very serious crime and honestly he should be in jail.....but he's a good football player, so we'll sweep it under the rug. Nothing to see here.

Anyway, I'll try to look past his apologists and try not to judge them too harshly, but IMO there is no reason for him to be brought up in this forum. There is zero chance he's ever on the Texans even if he was still on the board for the Texans 3rd round pick. It just wouldn't ever happen because even if some of the fanbase doesn't take sexual assault seriously, Bob McNair does.

It's funny, I actually don't like Winston. I am also not a FSU fan. And here we go again with you seeming to put invisible words into my mouth. I never said I bought into anything or blamed anyone or etc. At the end of the day, I nor yourself know what actually happened. For all I know, he could have raped her. And if he did, that's horrible. But he had his day in court, wen't through his due process, and was found not guilty. If the legal system was able to find him not guilty three times, than I as a person can accept that and move on. I won't hold it grudgingly over him just because he was accused. And that's the real issue. People seem to think that because he was accused, he is automatically 1000% guilty of rape.

Also, the only reason why I would even think about the Texans drafting Winston is because we have legitimate questions at quarterback. Can Mallet return to Cleveland form? What is the status of the other QBs on the roster? etc. If there wasn't a need at Quarterback, I'm pretty sure he wouldn't be mentioned at all. But he is, because that's a priority position and he excels at said position. Case closed. I slightly understand why you wouldn't wan't to draft him if he slips, but if we are talking about need and BPA for the Texans, I don't see why you wouldn't draft him.
