So OKC gives up a future lottery protected first round pick and they go $3 million into the luxury tax for Dion Waiters.
Lol wait how does OKC win this trade? I think the only clear winner in this (at the moment) are the New York Knicks and PJ.

First off Knicks won this trade... who wants to pay jr smith or waiters? Second Does this mean OKC is looking to trade Jackson?
This is actually a great trade for the Cavs (still no big man). Shumpert provides a legit defensive presence on the perimeter, and maybe now Lebron when healthy can return to roaming around to help out. And JR Smith is a better Waiters when his head is on right. But it's all up to Lebron. If he continues to play like he has, Cavs aren't going anywhere.
Amico is one of the worst NBA reporters. I'm sure Waiters has a very low BBIQ but I wouldn't take this seriously.
Reggie Jackson would be an upgrade for us at PG but I don't know if he would fit with our team. He's really not a three point shooter. His size and playmaking would be great for us but we really need a PG who can play off of Harden.
Pretty good trade for all teams. Not sure how Waiters will work out with the Thunder if he couldn't work out with the Cavs though. Don't really like him as a player and while it gives OKC another scorer off the bench, he needs the ball to be effective, but so does Westbrook and Reggie. Reggie Jackson is the big loser in the trade lol. Cavs still need a big man but they upgraded their depth and more importantly that perimeter defense. They might be able to get Dalembert too. You gotta think that Haywood contract nets them something hefty also. Knicks going full rebuilding mode now - lol @ Melo.
