Guess my brain corrected the mistake automatically every time, I tried hard to find some error in the title and couldn't find anything. :p

    Any Raid fans?

Stars Of THE RAID To Appear In STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS

JJ Abrams will be bringing some next level action to the STAR WARS franchise.

Twitch is reporting that Iko Uwais, star of The Raid and The Raid 2, will be joined by fellow Raid-ers Yayan Ruhian (Mad Dog) and Cecep Arif Rahman ("The Assassin" in that big The Raid 2 finale fight) in Star Wars: The Force Awakens. What will they be doing? Who will they be playing? Who knows! All we know is that they'll probably be doing some very cool action.

I do want to say that while I'm excited about this - I think Iko could be an international star, and I wish he had a real main role instead of something that gets announced after principal photography is complete - it's worth noting that we were super psyched when martial artist Ray Park was hired for Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace. And while Darth Maul did have the best fight scene to date in a Star Wars film, he didn't do much to raise the quality of the film around him. Now, I'm very bullish on The Force Awakens, but I'm only taking these hires as gravy, not proof of steak. There will be good physical action in The Force Awakens, but there was also good physical action in The Phantom Menace.

Like I said, Iko Uwais is a star in the making. Language barriers are a problem.. except in a Star Wars movie, where he can speak any old language! Here's hoping he has lines, and isn't just the body onto which Adam Driver's head is digitally mapped later. He's a little short for that, actually.

I've heard good things about The Raid but never got around to see it for myself. It bodes well for Episode 7 that they're continuing to elevate the fight choreography like they did in Episodes 1 thru 3...incidentally one of the things I thought they improved upon from the earlier movies. It makes the action that much more interesting when they continue to develop the style that different Jedi, Sith use in close combat with light sabers by incorporating different martial art forms. Not to have a knee jerk reaction but Episode 7 continues to get more and more interesting with more of the information they are releasing about it during production.

The raid was the worst movie I've ever seen. I couldn't even get through half of it and I love dumb movies. It was worse than Dredd.

Raid and Raid 2 were godly. Happy to see these guys get big opportunities. I'm betting JJ Abrams watched both films and was impressed.

Wow! Everybody seems to think The Raid is awesome. To each his own, though.

WOW, this is awesome news! The Raid 1 & 2 are amazing martial arts/pure action flicks.

First off, you admit in your own post that you didn't watch the entire thing, so your point is moot.

Second, I implore you to watch the movie again with an open mind AND after you get your testicles back from your momma's purse.

Hhahaha, awesome; the man cave is back and restored. Sorry rockbox, don't mean to be mean spirited but it could be a good thing for JJ Abrahams and company. I know the Star Wars universe isn't known for fight choreography but the direction this movie is going, this could be pretty damn epic.

seen raid 1 and 2 and hated both of them as well. Pretty generic stuff combined with ****ty foreign story-telling.

I might be able to see what you mean with part 1 but I thought part 2 was amazing. The fight scenes and brutality on its own are awesome.

Can we all agree that Raid 1/2 is a mindless action movie with meh plot but pretty cool fight scenes and get back on topic?

This Star Trek movie will probably be the best one yet. Cannot wait.

Die Hard isn't in the same league as the other two films. Die Hard is incredible. Don't let the sequels fool you.
