I Expect us to win tonight but I'm feeling negative about the locker room going forward. Dwight and Smith are both capable of destroying this teams cohesiveness.

So much easier for Dwight and for Dmo too. When Dmo plays with Dwight the other team's defense can't handle us. Beverly and Harden are also harder to defend.

Anyone else notice the Rockets average 6 less FTA per game? I think losing Lin is a big reason why we shoot less FTs per game. The difference between Parsons last year and Ariza's FTA this year is only 0.7. Ariza does suck at getting to the line though.

Lin got to the line 3.7 times in 28.9 minutes with the Rockets. Beverley only gets to the line 1.7 times in 32.2 minutes.

Harden's FTs are exactly the same even though he is taking 2.3 more shots per game.

The easy explanation is because teams do not go to hack-a-Dwight like they did last season, right? Wrong, Dwight's FTs are only down 1.1 and he is still shoting 7.9 a game.

It is a combination of losing Lin, Harden not averaging more FTs even though he is shooting more, Howard getting to the line less, and Ariza getting to the line a little less than Parsons did.

I also notice everyone averages less FTAs on the Rockets. Josh Smith, Chandler Parsons, Corey Brewer, Terry and Schved.

Everyone except Lin. Lin' FTA went down 0.9 per game playing 3 less minutes per game on the Lakers. Is it because Kobe, Nick Young, Harden and Howard take all the shots? This means other guys don't get the ball as much and get get to the line as much.

Dmo doesn't really play close enough to the basket to get to the line. Jones avg 2.6 FTA last season.

players can take shots whenever they like, that is why usage is a good gauge of how much a player has the ball. Lin isn't that great of a player and he is timid, if he wants more shots, he has to grow some balls and just take them

Someone answer this: Why are the Rockets so bad at finishing near the rim when we have Harden and Howard? They are 27th in FG% near 5 feet. The Pisons, Hornets and 76ers are the only teams worse than them. All of the good teams in the NBA finish well at the rim (Warriors, Mavs, Wiz, Clippers, Blazers, Spurs, Suns, Raptors, and even the Hawks). My guess is because other teams know the Rockets only want to shoot layups and threes so they just collapse at the rim when the ball-handler drives past the 3 point line.

All of the good teams are good at scoring from most places on the court. The Rockets are bad at shooting from everywhere on the court.

more than just 2 players on a team, there's your answer, also Jones is out, he scores close to the rim as well

Hey here's a thought. Forget the Smith hooha. Start Canaan. That right there.

I would start Canaan and Motiejunas. Let Smith and Bev come off the bench.

This game should be an easy win.

The Heat are not a good basketball team. They are 5 games below 500. at 14-19 in the EAST.

The rockets are playing at home. Despite their recent problems, you shloud at the very least, expect the rockets to take care of business at home against a sub 500 team.

    Easy win.

The Rockets offensive and defensive rating is so much worse at home than on the road. Let's hope that isn't the case tonight.

Also, we really suck at rebounding with 0 days rest. Tired legs means you're too tired to jump high, and hustle for loose balls and to box out your man on every possession.

If our philoshopy is to shoot layups and threes, why do we not have capable finishers or three point shooters other than Harden?

We need to start running fastbreaks. Must get easy buckets.
