Lionel Hollins is my favorite coach because he's willing to do what others wouldn't do. He may be gruff, but he gets results.

I woke up at 12 and for some reason I decided to look at the nba standings and I noticed that the east had 7 teams .500 or better and thought that the east is catching up to the west in terms of quality teams. I then saw that the nets were at .500 and googled lionel hollins to see what the new york media was saying about him and came upon the information that Lionel had benched Lopez and Williams.

    How my mind works man.

Both Williams and Lopez were out for a string of games because of injuries and it only made sense to start them on the bench upon their return. Plumlee has also become a beast for the Nets since becoming the starting center and to Lionel Hollin's credit, he's designing pick and roll plays for Plumlee with Jarrett Jack and this has turned out to be a deadly combination.

iirc the Rockets were close to getting him in the off season... Until he got offered HC... He'd help McHale a lot, definitely great coach.

So when I was saying the same thing, though a bit more frustrated and saying he would've known what to do when our starters are playing the way they do, it was all bull?

He should have replaced Mchale but he's not a "Yes Man" so it never would've happened and no way he takes a position as an assistant to Mchale or half the other coaches in the league. He's too good for that.

^ Mchale did it during one game, Hollins literally relegated DWill and Lopez to the bench for a few games now and started Jarret Jack + Sergey Karasev (Johnson at SF, Garnett at PF, Plumlee at C).

    Ish is working

lopez had like 16-8 on 7/8 shooting and 3 blocks the other day in a close game and he still only played 18 minutes. Hollins just doesnt like him. He liked the tough on the glass Randolph/Gasol types.

So if it makes Hollins a beast of a coach for benching 2 starters, than I wonder what McHale is for benching his whole starting squad.

I have nothing against Hollins, but I don't understand how a .500 record with this Brooklyn team is "getting results."
