Smith hardly played in the first half. He got two fouls in about 4 minutes. This wasn't on him.

I'd start by starting Dmo followed by Canaan getting some of Terry's minutes (*edited*..and Bev's), Brewer getting more of Ariza's minutes and Papa seeing more time.

Pretty much. Dwight has been playing extremely lazy basketball for a minute now.

Haha exactly, I am not bandwagony (sp), it's just the fact that I have watched a lot of freaking 82 game seasons and it always ends the same. I don't think tonight's performance has anything to do with my feeling down. The Rockets in their current form will do nothing in the playoffs, even if they play their best I don't think it's enough. And I have watched a lot of Rockets seasons. Hell during those losing seasons I was still watching.

Sadly my motto has become "next year will be better", I don't even know if the team got Bosh it would be any better, something just seems off with this team. And when it comes playoffs time, I am expecting failure, if they prove me wrong awesome, but I know better.

During Yao/TMac injuries obviously hurt, but now it's like sometimes players aren't even interested in playing. I don't know if its the coach/owner or what, but I will tell you with each passing year I miss being spoiled by Dream. Even when we were losing he was still interested in playing with effort.

Don't take my post as abandoning the team, I went to my first Rocket game at the Summit in the late 80's and I am from Houston, I just want to have a team that I can put money on getting out of the first f'ing round and I don't think we have that.

If this team can't pass 2ed round, I'm sure Howard will be traded to New York or other teams

Hopefully this awful game allows the team to reset and rethink their ways. Change the starting lineup, give minutes to Pap/Canaan, change the rotations, etc.

Why do you and half of this board keep posting this nonsense garbage?

Did you actually saw Dwight play when he came into the league? Or do you actually think he was born playing like he does today?

He lacks passion to win but last year he was the only one trying to against the Blazers, while to GOD, MVP, Mr I can“t do no wrong Harden was getting owned by Mathews (and by owned I mean considering expectations on the matchup).

So please quit this hate on Howard, I get the frustration of seeing him coast in the regular season, but if you actually understand that this guy is probably the worst officiated player in the league since Yao, you would probably understand his mentality of only carrying about playoffs.

That's what terrifies me. Les will fork over a max extension because he thinks the Rockets need a big name center in order to contend and that Dwight still qualifies as such. He already potentially p-ssed away Harden's prime by giving McHale a 3-year extension for no reason whatsoever. Handing Dwight 120 mil over 5 years would pretty much be the nail in the coffin.

People seem to forget about fundamentals. Rhythm doesnt exist. Our offense is pure horse chit. That's why you see our players in long slumps. They are not normal slumps. But let's go ahead and blame every individual player.

Dwight is a great put back and point blank scorer....otherwise he doesn't have any midrange game.Horrible FT shooter ( a real liability) and more often than I care to mention plays LAZY, no hustle basketball. Earn your damn money. McHale didn't even look up at the starters when they came out in the 2nd qtr...totally disgusted.

Smith starting next to an unmotivated Howard is just putting him in a position to fail.

Smith has positives. It's the coaching staff's job to put him in a position to take advantage of those and hide his negatives.

Same thing with Hoiward. Howard shouldn't be posting up against big centers. He should just do what he does well: grab alley-oops.

D-mo should post up. He does well against just about everyone.

The more I think about it, the more the glaring issue is Beverly not being able to run the offense. He just runs around in circles and passes the ball off with 14 seconds left or chucks a brick.

We need a new starting lineup.

    Howard
    DMo
    Brewer
    Harden
    Beverley

If Canaan were in the rotation, he'd be starting material also. Unreal McHale has permabenched him
