Jones is a great perimeter defender and Smith is a great post defender. I don't get what the argument is. On offense, they both have the ability to have big games, but Jones disappears if things aren't rolling. I don't know who is better, but I'm glad we don't have to decide. They both work well depending on the opponent. When Jones comes back, I'm pumped to have DMo play backup center instead of Dorsey. I'm tired of the 17% FT accuracy.
bricks, no spacing, lackadaisical defense, inefficient scoring - josh smith brings everything we don't need /disgruntled rockets fan
fans already know this. The problem is that the person who is actually anchorage of the rotation,Mchale, has an IQ below 100.
The fans that call others out for criticizing the team and moves are the worst. I still remember dandorotick or w.e going full blown psycho case on DD for saying that smith was a cancer and shouldn't be starting . How so many continue to drink the Kool aid is beyond me.
Tell that to les and morey. Happy mchale got the money , I really like him as an individual, just not as the coach of this ball club. Their obsession with "yes" men will waste harden's prime, the dude is having an MVP season for Christ's sake...
Josh Smith could be fine if he was coached up effectively. But that takes time and they're putting him in a position to fail. If you notice they start him but never play him in the in the 2nd or 4th quarters. Josh Smith could work fine off the bench against people who can't match him talent wise if all he tried to do was dunk the ball.
I'm not a McHale fan but he was on the ball tonight pulling Josh Smith out of the game before he could do too much damage. Starting Smith is clearly not his idea.
the only reason i care is that the rockets actually have a shot at winning it this year. not saying they're the favorites... just saying they're up there in the mix. i say we keep josh smith. it's too early to give up on this experiment. and it's still fairly low risk. the ceiling is too high to bail after a few bad games. the guy probably hasn't even unpacked his bags yet. on the court, dwight, james, and trevor need to lead. on the sidelines our coaching staff should be focusing to improve our game plan and run better offensive sets - and hold players accountable. this is where having a hall of fame figure head coach comes in handy. he's got to get the veterans on this team united and laser focused. and whatever coach is spending the most time with josh smith should be in his ear... every. single. practice.
Josh Smith brings everything we need... If what we need are migraines and tv remotes lodged into our flat screens.
Im almost at the point where rubbing my genitals on a cheese grater sounds more appealing than trying to watch the rockets and their current state of play.
