Flip putting Daniels in last 2 minutes of the game
Down by 3. Troy takes the last shot to tie it but misses
Glad to see Troy getting his chance

Interesting to see Mo Williams giving Troy some encouragement
Last season he was taunting Troy when we were playing Mo and Portnand in the playoffs

He was also in the game early in the 4th quarter.

MINN has been losing in the endgame because Flip doesn't play any vets. The youngsters are failing to execute. Wiggins keeps forcing his drives. Adrien had an important putback mid-4th but wasn't in the game at the end.

I like the MINN youngsters though (except Bennett), and I think they will be a load 2-3 years from now.

Shy of the 40% mark almost everywhere he played? You mean 3+ years ago when he shot 38% at VCU. Is that the everywhere you are referring to?

Also, Heslip is just a more extreme version of Daniels and literally the only guy on pace to do what Daniels did, which might actually get him to the NBA. Anyway the point being that these guys per min and per pos are off the chart. Like doubling the traditional shooting pace of the best 3pt shooters in the NBA.

He shot under 40% last season for RGV.

Again, i cant be bothred trawling the stats, but a quick glance at the top 5 scorers shows quincy miller and seth curry on 8 attempts per game, and shooting 41 and 52% respectively.

With all due respect, 6'4 or under sub 40% jackers arent unique....

Shows he shot 40.1% from 3pt for RGV.

The per game metric isn't very useful in comparison between players because of the differential in minutes played. You have to look at % in relation to mins and pos to get an idea of efficiency and productivity.

For example, Ariza leads the league in 3pt attempts, but shooting 32% at 7.3 3PA/36mins. Curry is second in the league in attempts, but is shooting 38.8% at 8.2 3PA/36mins. Obviously, Curry is more efficient, but he also has more production making roughly 35% more 3s than Ariza in the same number of minutes.

Daniels is shooting 39.5% at 13.8 3PA/36mins over the two seasons and like 40.1% at 12.7 3PA/36mins in the D-league. That is what makes him fairly unique, but likely not for long as more organizations hop on the 3pt happy train.

You missed 2 games! 48 regular season, 2 playoff.
He shot .397 for RGV in 50 games last season.

I'm not suggesting that is bad, but it isn't the 50% pace it is made out to be either! Short guys who jack up lots of shots at under 40% aren't unique! Now that he's not a Rocket, I could care less about him - just keen to point out that we haven't given away the next coming of Dell Curry

Ah, O.K. To be fair though one could average it with his NBA statistics and he'd be over 40% for that year.

Yeah, but it doesn't have to be 50% or not really even 40%. A player's shooting% and efficiency is valued as a share of the team's efficiency and production as a whole. A 45% 3pt shooter taking 5 3PA/100pos is not necessarily helping your team as much as a 38% 3pt shooter taking 10 3PA/100pos because presumably the 5 FGA/100pos difference is being absorbed and taken by other players on the team.

For example, Harden is one of the most efficient and high producing players in the league despite a relatively garbage shooting% for an elite SG. He gets to the line and when factoring that in to PTS/FGA and FGA/100pos hes basically 2nd only to Durant.

~18 minutes tonight. 0/8 overall, 0/5 from 3. Getting his Ariza on.

He's the best garbage time shooter in the league...
