This right here is the truth, the eye test element got overlooked by everybody. Ohio State and TCU looked great this whole year while Baylor had some real bad lows, and defensively were a joke. If anything FSU looked worse then tOSU and TCU but were undefeated so they had to be in.
All offense, no defense, probably should be playing an unranked team in a bowl game. That's what I meant. A&M beat West Virginia 45-37 Baylor beat them 41-27. Maybe it's more fair to say that A&M is a poor man's Baylor.
Ouch. Oh well.. Can't win em all. It was a decent season. Won the conference again and should be in mix next season as well.
What were Baylor's really bad lows? OSU looked great losing to VaTech and needing double OT to beat Penn State? TCU looked great against needing a comeback against Kansas? There's a lot of selective memory here. No team in college football looked great all season.
I am using "great" in the sense of potential title winners, for example Alabama against Texas A&M you knew right then that Alabama can win it all. Baylor's moment would probably be against Oklahoma?? The other 3 games I watched TCU, WVU, Texas they looked good, not great. Where you could say that Ohio State blew out both legit teams they played Wisc, Mich St. and looked like title participants. TCU for me was the K State game, and most of the Baylor game.
Never count against FSU. They've had so many comeback victories, I'm just going to assume they are going to crawl their way to a championship.
Neither one of these qbs are impressing me. I'm sorry. #1 and #2 in the country and you can't even make a read.
Baylor beat both OU and K-State. And if TCU gets credit for looking good against Baylor, does Baylor not get credit for actually beating TCU? Neither OSU or TCU had a win against a team of that quality. Again, selective memory. If you ignore Baylor's best games while ignoring the other team's worst games, I agree that those other teams looked better during the season.
Had to run out and do an errand. It was 41-21 Baylor and I thought it was safe to leave. Got back home, it was 42-41 MSU and Petty was being sacked twice in-a-row. Sorry I missed it.
Fortunately, I left the TV on, rewound it back 1 hour and watched the last 10 mins quickly just before the Rose Bowl. If they hadn't unnecessarily blocked the one guy in the back on the INT, it would have been 48-28 and ball game Baylor.
