this is crazy weekend for sports... fsu/ oregon nfl playoffs jon jones vs. daniel cormier my body is ready
Go Gophers! Minnesota looking great against Mizzou in a game they're not favored in. Coach Jerry Kill has improved the Gophers each of his four years and been to three bowl games in a row (two in Houston) but so far hasn't won one. This could finally be the year in the first New Year's day bowl in 50 years for the Gophers.
It's a sham......that the Big12 doesn't have a team in the playoffs..... TCU and Baylor both continuing their Domination into their respected bowl games. System needs to be tweaked....more teams? Although, not having a BIG12 conf. championship game is the first thing that needs to change....and perhaps...just maybe...12 teams. Edit:....make that just the Horned Frogs who were dominant....
Conspiracy theory: They let OSU get in with their large fanbase for this year to get $$$. TCU and Baylor get left out and have a huge chip on their shoulder and rightfully dominate their bowl games. Next year we have a hyped up 8/12/16 team playoff for even more $$$.
It will be many years before the playoffs expand - things don't happen quickly in the world of college football due to all the independent contracts involved between the individual bowls and TV and conferences, etc. And the playoff games will sell out and have huge viewership regardless of the teams. OSU got in because the Big12 leadership is a bunch of idiots and OSU gave the committee an easy out of not having to decide between Baylor and TCU by blowing out Wisconsin.
