The numbers don't agree but how to feel the safest doesn't always agree with statistics. I don't feel safe on planes.

It's the George Zimmerman of toddlers. The mother wearing a hoodie, skittles on one hand, breast milk on the other didn't know what was coming.

What were the numbers on murders at Wal-Marts in rural Idaho again?

Only thing that can protect us from bad toddlers with guns are good toddlers with guns.

Very tragic story but I think we can all agree that children and guns don't mix.

This is like what happened with the 9 year old who killed the firing range instructor. In both cases it was irresponsibility of those how probably should've known better leading to a tragedy.

Now we're getting somewhere. I hereby withdraw my call for a toddler ban.

I think its also telling that this happened at Walmart.

    The clientele there is always...questionable.

But how do we make sure they don't abuse their power and kill innocent toddlers? And what about toddler hate-crimes?

Too many kids to carry a gun in her purse if she doesn't notice one of them messing around in her purse with the gun.

And what's up with all of the gun carriers in Idaho...??? Is it to protect themselves from the gang bangers.

As others have mentioned, the gun owner was an idiot for not being able to use their gun responsibly. However, I really wonder the need to have a gun at a Wal-Mart in Idaho. I didn't realize that Idaho was up there in heavy crime like Memphis, Detroit, Chicago, Atlanta, LA, and NY. I guess I won't be going to Idaho due to its heavy crime...

Its unfortunate that people feel they need to make "witty" comments about an incident like this. These same people criticize the woman and come up with thoughless solutions like "ban guns". As much as I am pro gun, i recognize we have a gun problem in America. The run of the mill Liberal solutions does nothing to help with the problem.

For example, we have no idea why the woman had a gun in one of the safer Walmarts in the country. Yes, it was very likely she was a paranoid Republican who felt she deserves the right to carry everywhere she goes. But maybe she had an estranged ex who has been following her around and she was in fear of her own safety. We can't come up with a blanket solution and criticize every incident and make a mockery of it.

You know there is a problem yet restricting guns is a thoughtless solution? This blows my mind and makes me think that your bias of "liberals" clouds your judgment. There is literally no other developed country with the same level of gun violence as the U.S. It is no small coincidence that we also have some of the most ridiculous guns laws.

“She was very competent,” said Loomis. “This is not somebody that is just a nut, let me tell you.”
