Case has earned a spot on an NFL roster for 2015 but his personal success is predicated on having a good coach that can minimize his mistakes and maximize what he does well. I think Case thrives in a no huddle quick tempo short passing game offense.
That was lack of reps. Savage's passes looked pretty dang good and he showed he has a cannon with touch. He definitely has potential.
I think I don't agree with you, ever...but you're right here. He looked decent once he settled down, but more importantly, he showed he has the arm talent necessary to succeed. Just needs reps and study time.
Case looked worse than Fitz's average day, and it's not really even close. Keenum only had pressure on 10 drop backs and had a sub 50 rating any time the Jags sent an extra rusher. He can't handle any pressure. Also, the majority of his passes were screens and dump offs. He had terrible accuracy on passes beyond 10 yards. He also accounted for a pick 6 and a fumble on our own 20 yard line. In other words, He gave up 14 of the Jags 17 points. Texans should have won by 20 points, but with Keenum, we had to rely on basically a goal line stand to win the game. Keenum is a borderline 3rd string QB, as has been shown by the QB hungry Rams not even holding a roster spot for him. He'll be on some team next year fighting for the 3rd spot and it won't be Houston.
Good question. How many times can you be signed to the practice squad before you're ineligible? I know Google is my friend but I am being lazy. Also curious to see who knows this off top, without the help of the interwebz.
Did we are did we not win games with Case this year who walked in off the street...??? I know you put Fitzpatrick in the elite category but both of those dudes are backups.
We won at least one game with every scrub QB we started. Says more about the rest of the team and coaching staff than the QBs.
Which is why I said the Texans would have probably done no worst with Case and using the money they spent on Fitzpatrick elsewhere....
I disagree. I was all for Case last year when he looked okay in his first 3 games. But he didn't show anything in preseason. The last game, the only reason the Jags were in it was because of the pick 6 and that fumble. Now I'll give him credit for managing both games and not ****ing up enough to make us lose. Other than a couple drives each of those two games, Case has been wildly inaccurate. And we are talking the easy throws.
When Case ever throws for 120+ TDs, you can make an argument. Until then, keep blabbering. Fitz is a very average NFL QB. Case is lucky to be a third option on any team.

It certainly wasn't all his fault that the team was terrible, but he wasn't able to win a single game. I don't mind keeping him on as a backup, but Mallett should be the starter entering next season.
For perspective sake . . .a QB with a superior resume to Fitzie won only 2 games with that roster and coach and the coach LIKED that guy . . .which did not seem to be the case with Case Rocket River
So Mallett and Savage arent viable options next year? I think both have great upside. As for Fitz (although I rode his A all year) I do think he did a good job of being a professional, giving all he had and giving the team stability through O'B's rookie year.
