The Rockets have lost 4 of their last 6 games. What gives?

    I meant to make one of the options tough schedule instead of too many threes.

    The Pelicans are not a playoff team and they were missing Evans. In Houston.
    The Hawks best player was Korver and Teague was out. In Houston.
    The Spurs lost 7/10 games before we played them. They were missing 2 of there starters in Parker and Leonard.
    The Wiz just flat out beat us. We could never retake the lead in the 4th quarter. This team has feasted on weak EC teams. In Houston.

    I don't really consider these teams tough considering the injuries. Also, aren't we supposed to be good?

    Is it the Toyota Center?

    Griz lost 4 in a row, the Warriors too in a funk. We shouldn't get bogged down by a few games in the regular season. Let's be patient and see how Smith pans out and how DMO get back on in his new role. Hopefully, we will get back on track sooner than later.

    Isaiah Canaan was a big part of the Rockets success early. He actually fits in with Morey's 3pt offense, but McHale won't play him.

    I have a theory. We do not want to make Pat angry in his contract year and we had to choose between experience (Terry) and the young gun (Canaan). Morey wants to keep Pay happy to make sure he re-signs with us. He would get mad if we cut down on his minutes because he is trying to get paid.

    Unless I am missing something and Canaan's injury caused him to lose a step.

    Turnovers and defensive regression combined with regressing to the mean in tight games(can't win them all - eventually luck runs out).

    ...also no one wants to face the obvious lack of continuity in this roster all season with injuries, curious benchings(free Canaan!), and more recently player acquisition. We have started 11 different players this year in countless random lineups. What you are seeing out there with a team struggling to keep its rhythm is a reflection of all that change. Honestly, I'm not sure if we can take another trade deadline acquisition - we are struggling to integrate the guys we have.

    These are three things I want to see:

    1) At least 4 D-Mo post ups a game. Min 1 per quarter.
    2) Screens for Canaan to shoot threes off of. 2 per game.
    3) Beverley to stop trying to create assist. Everyone knows he is in his contract year (including he guys guarding the Rockets) and he wants to get paid so he is trying to get his assists up since he is a PG. The problem is he is not a playmaker because he doesn't want to penetrate to the rim and finish. He is afraid of contact and getting injured in a contract year.

    Were you not watching last year when McHale refused to play AB unless Bev or Lin got injured? His refusal to look down the bench is nothing new.

    This is why I'm starting to think this team is more of a pretender... Obviously, I hope I'm wrong and the Rockets get their head out of their arse after this 2 game stretch, end 2014 on a good note with a win over Charlotte and take some momentum into 2015.
