Because it prevents them from harming, imprisoning or exploiting animals in any manner. I'm 300 pounds bone-dry and even I understand that.

Vegans also will not eat the product of animal agriculture...meaning if you grew it using a horse or ox to pull the plow, they won't eat it. Ask anyone from India or other developing countries what they think of the Vegan philosophy and you'll get an interesting perspective.
I have a teacher friend who had a Jain student once. Aside from being vegan who avoided animal products and food, she also avoided stepping on grass for PE. She was allowed to do her exercises on concrete.
i know some athletes that are vegans for health reasons, Jon Fitch for example did it for a while, so did Jake Shields I don't think they really care about animals being harmed or whatnot, it's just they like the diet.

Why do Vegans hate plants?!?! Are plants not living creatures on this planet!!! Research has shown plants do communicate and can also learn. Vegans, explain yourselves!!!
real vegans shouldnt go on the internet since the intercontinental fiber optic cables disturb the ecosystem of the deep sea
I know your probably kidding, but in case your not or others didn't catch on to your sarcasm I'd like to clear this up. All plants have protein, and it's actually really quite easy to get all your protein and essential amino acids from a plant based diet.

How sure are we that this whole "veganism" thing isn't just some very elaborate and sophisticated Portlandia skit?
