    Detroit is 2-0 without Smith.

Rockets will not be legit until they get better PG production. Just my opinion.

McHale alluding to the lack of effort in "certain groups on the floor"

Dwight is a huge iasue right now. He has been awful no effort at all. Thank god this team has Harden ( we say this everygame it seems) If Dwight is hurt he needs to take himself out.

I also don't understand the Smith hate. He only took 6 shots and people are flipping out. The coaching staff ****ed up by placing him in the starting line up so soon. Pap not playing is really hurting the team as well. He does the little things that go un noticed in the box score that win games.

Oh well lets get the next one!

Are you serious ? There are people who have bypass surgery that recuperate faster than Dwight. His play/heart is not championship urgent. He doesn't hustle...doesn't have the greatest offensive skills except put backs, D is soft...shoot HE is soft. It is what it is. I like him but I'm seeing the validation of the criticism leveled against him.

It would be very easy to bench Smith, he's only being paid $2M. I'm concerned with Dwight.

I think you have to play them separately. There might be some dynamics going on between those 2, deferring to each other etc.

    McHale:

Bad end to 2nd Q. Bad start to 3rd. Second team came in and played better. Had a period, last couple nights, where we're hurting ourselves on both sides.

We gotta get better. 25 turnovers last night. Tonight, turnovers, defensive assignments. We have to work back into sync. Not in great sync. Weren't able to sustain anything. No sense of urgency. You gotta go make it. We didn't play with sense of desperation. Out of sync 3-4 minutes at a time, it kills you.

2nd team played with more intensity, purpose, speed. Some groups, we just didn't do things hard enough. 50/50 balls, rebounds, extra effort plays, all of that wasn't there. We struggled mightily at different points.

im not as upset as this is back to back, but let's see how we respond against charlotte with some practice under our belt

but if we lose to charlotte somehow, then heads need to roll

Wow. Frustrating game for sure. However it's not the end of the world. Only problem i have is that we started smith right away. If we had waited until after we were done with this tough 4 game stretch then started him, it would have been easier to integrate him. The starting lineup was thrown off, and to do that against teams like the spurs and wizards will result in failure.

Thank God the next game is against the Hornets. It's actually a good measuring stick for how bad things are(or might be) right now. If the Rockets drop that game, then it's panic time.

Well gee whiz Kev, maybe you should have kept the starting lineup the same until the new guys know their roles and where they are supposed to be, right?

That would be the SMART INTELLIGENT thing to do.

Of course, it is never his fault..lol.

    COACH BETTER FOOL !

I think next game McHale will change the rotation somehow.

Morey and the coaches use these games for data-gathering, and then they'll figure out what they need to do--such as get Brewer to get our transition going.

They are trying Shved out to be our secondary playmaker. If it's not working out, then they will trade for someone else again. We actually need a playmaker PG who can play defense on the starting unit. If Dragic is not going to be traded, then who else?

I'm not surprised by Dorsey's game at all.

He outplayed Dwight in Memphis. We know what he's capable of. Willing to move his feet. Challenge shots.

    Howard just stands there.

That may be on Morey though. Remember, he promised Smith a starting role in order to lure him here. McHale is regarded by many around here as a yes man, so he was probably just doing as he was told.

Game was tied in the 4th and Smith sat down like the whole quarter.
