Yes, which is why you have to be smart enough to tell him no...that he will probably start, but needs time to learn the system first.

And that if he earns it, he will start.

You don't wussy up and back down, and say yes....we could offer him more $$$ than anywhere else, he had nowhere else to go.

It is too much of a " Ah shucks we will let you do what you want " mentality on the Rockets, they lack strong leadership from the coaching ranks.

Well despite Corey Brewer's best effort we lost.

Look, we can sit here all day and say McHale should have left the bench in... but there has been a hundred times when the bench has played extremely well to bring them back and the starters finished it off.

This one is on those players. No intensity whatsoever when they came back in. Horrible.

I'm done with this team. 20m to Howard? Smith a starter? McHale three more years? Well done Morey, well done!

There are obvious problems with the team. I don't expect this team to go 82-0, but I expect them to play with heart and poise. The Rockets are not shooting the ball well, their starters don't move the ball, Dwight's effort has been **** lately, and McHale is being way too patient with his rotations. There are obvious issues that need to be fixed now so we can actually make a serious playoff run.

Dwight doesn't even put a hand up most of the time, either on his guy or a switch. For someone previously so dominant on that end it's sad to see such poor effort. I can't believe we miss Black so much. His intensity and hustle was contagious. He knew his limits but worked amazingly hard. These guys are just expecting it to happen automatically.

Second playmaker continues to be a glaring need that's growing evident as teams figure out our sets

He's not moving well laterally. That knee still not right and it won't be all season.

We do have a few new players. Everyone is adjusting its just that there is no excuse for the lack of effort.

Another T.Jones is who I was hoping for when we signed Josh Smith but man....so far Josh Smith just does not look good and continues to make bone headed plays he's made in his entire career

You damn well know that if you don't listen to Morey you end up getting canned. Just look at Adelman. He wanted to be stubborn and do things his way and Morey just got rid of him. McHale would have suffered the same faith, but McHale is a yes man, therefore, he gets an extension.

Not only $22mill but they actually threw a parade outside the Toyota center when we got him, for a guy who doesn't have a ring

It's not knee jerk. The Rockets lost because they didn't play as hard as the other team. That should never happen. The Wizards didn't exactly have a perfect game out there. They bricked plenty of shots and turned the ball over when the Rockets pressed. But what they never did was stop running their offense or contesting shots on the perimeter and in the paint, and most importantly they made their damn free throws.

The Rockets are beating themselves these last 2 games by playing lackadaisical. You can see it with the stupid turnovers, the inconsistent effort on D, and pathetic foul shooting. And a lot of that does fall on McHale. He has to demand effort from these guys. If not, bench their sorry asses and just go with the 2nd unit. They may lose the game anyway, but at least you know they'll hustle on every possession.

Something's wrong with the starting unit. First, Howard is not as mobile. He must be preserving his knee, maybe anticipating pain or discomfort.

Second, it has unfortunately coincided with Bev and Ariza's cold spell from 3pt range. Tonight we compensated by slashing to the basket.

But we need interior defense on the starting unit. Look how DMo and Dorsey anchored the defense.

I would go back to Dwight-DMo pairing on the starters and Dorsey-Smith for the bench.

Look, McHale benched Smith in the 4th. It's not that he does not notice these things.

When was the last time Ariza shot 50% in a game?
    Seriously, I can't recall.
