[Cinema] Denzel Washington & Antoine Fuqua's 'The Equalizer'

It would take Rambo, Jason Bourne, and Jet Li to take Denzel.

 

Dammit I'm trying to see This, Walk among the tombstone and Annabelle. Has anyone seen all three? Which film is a must?

 

Add IP Man and Bruce Lee just in case.

Of course if you got this guy then your are golden

 

So basically the entire Expendables crew can't being down denzel

 

I usually love Denzel movies, but not this one. It at times felt like an early 2000's Van Damme Eastern European made action thriller. I thoroughly enjoyed Man on Fire, Safehouse, Training Day, and Book of Eli. To me Equalizer was like a darker Red 2 type movie...I just found it too unbelievable. And I think I suspend disbelief pretty easily. Oh well. I'll still watch his next one.

 

The guy from Raid and Raid 2 could take him but not many others. It was pretty funny how they just kept trying to think of creative was for him to kill people. SO many missed one liner opportunities......

 

I give it a solid 8 out of 10.

Damn too lazy to go to a theater. This movie will take forever to hit on demand and iTunes.

 

If you like Denzel, 7-8/10. Otherwise, not so high.

Not his best. It's pure action, very little story and acting.

Really good movie.

 

Pacing issues aside, it was pretty much a paint by the numbers action movie. Mysterious guy who has hidden skills that is pushed to start using them. Seen it time and time again in many movies. I did enjoy the few action sequences that were in the movie.

 

Way to absurd. One guy single handidly taking out the mob?

 

Yeah, premise similar to John Wick. A movie I still have not seen. I will rent it as soon as it comes out.

Also Russian "mob" seemed very little in man power

 

Not a classic by any means. However, it's a good watch.

 

take that back. best movie since dances with wolves.

 

It was an ok movie.

A one time watch, definitely not a classic!
