I still think we are - our chemistry is off with all these new guys, and it is not a coincidence that Dmo goes to the bench and our starters chemistry is off. I give us 2 or 3 weeks, we will be hot and cold then I think we take off on a long winning streak. DD
Thanks for the jinx! (I probably have to take the blame, too, for the Josh Smith = The Third Man thread.)
It amazing how much crap Dorsey gets from 7 minutes of basketball. Dorsey lost the game playing 7 minutes? wake up knuckleheads.
Can you just say we are not contenders this year and won't go far? You should know how your Curse usually works. Say the contrary
I know you mean well, DD. But the jinx is strong in you. Maybe you need to go on hiatus... just until the Rockets reach the conference finals.
I think we have the talent to hang with anyone now but I still feel when its all said and done that coaching is going to hold the Rox back more than anything, especially in the playoffs. The Rox beat themselves tonight with dumb plays and turnovers. Coach Pop made some great strategic moves to help shift the momentum of the game and his teams rarely beat themselves like the Rox did tonight.
You saw what the Spurs did to Harden by doubling him and cutting off passing lanes. They learned what he likes to do and took it away. Problem is that no one else on the Rockets knows how to create a shot for anyone else on a consistent basis. Beverly is not a pg. We need a pg.
Isaiah Canaan is on the roster, right, he can be our Patty Mills if McHale would simply play him, he is our leading 3pt shooter too. DD
He's played so little and we have no idea why he isn't getting PT. For all we know it could be very legit reasons. Maybe he is blowing defensive assignments. Maybe he's playing horribly in practice. Regardless, we need someone who can get on the floor and be a floor general other than Harden. No team that has won an NBA championship in the past few decades has done it without two playmakers who essentially could be point guards or run the offense whenever was needed: Spurs - Parker, Mills, Ginobili Heat - Wade & Lebron Mavs - Terry/Kidd/Barea C's - Rondo/Pierce Lakers - Fisher/Kobe Bulls - Jordan/Pippen Rockets - Clyde/Cassell and you probably could count Hakeem. Current Rockets: Harden & ????? Don't tell me it's Smith. You know it's not. Definitely not the old man Terry we have now. Definitely not Bev. So who can play that role?
Can you imagine how good we would've been with Lowry the way he's playing???!??! Although, I wonder if he would thrive under a coach who lets him do what he wants and has a zero structure offense.
