Again. If Harden and Howard are true superstars that they are supposed to be, the only thing they need is a strong supporting cast. They have one. Why tear that down just to add another playmaker? This team is built well. We have solid quality depth at every position. We have a supporting cast that plays top notch defense and two SUPERSTARS who are arguably the best players at their positions. That formula has worked over and over again. Let it ride!!!!!
Beverley's defense is overrated. He is not a smart defender. He just has 150% hustle which is a huge accomplishment in itself. Smart players like Conley, Curry, and Parker routinely burn him though because he plays out of control.
Again, who was the offensive creator for LA, CHI, HOU and Miami when you took away their two SUPERSTARS? Fisher, BJ Armstrong, Kenny Smith and Chalmers? You don't have to have an allstar at every position.
Remember when Stockton use to burn BJ Armstrong? or even a couple of years ago when Westbrook was whooping Chalmers? How about year before last when Parker was routinely beating Chalmers? The point is you are not going to win the battle at every position.
You need a glue at one or two positions. Right now Beverley is more glue than Ariza. Dragic is no glue at all. He bolted back to Phoenix the first chance he got like a cheap hoe
We have a go to guy who's very good at scoring when Hardens out of the game. DMO. That's where the offense needs to come from when Harden is out. Post DMO up and let hem work the post or pass out to open shooters.
What about adding someone like MoWilliams who is content coming off the bench. We need to find our Jamal Crawford who is a volume scorer but satisfied with coming off the bench. And who is not as expensive as a starting PG who just had a 20 ppg season. Lamenting is one thing, being reasonable another. Von Wafer would be good right now.
Look teams will double Harden and take away his playmaking if you don't have anyone on the other side who can punish them for it. We need another playmaker. Off the bench, starting, whatever. It doesn't matter, but we won't win a ring without one.
Russell Westbrook and Kevin Durant are true superstars. They have a great supporting cast and top notch defense. All the same, you can bet Presti regrets trading James Harden away. If you can have that kind of talent advantage, compatible talent advantage at that, you take it.
Nah Bev is an overrated player and honestly has maxed himself out as a player. He has zero PG skills. We need a better point guard.
This game is a good example of why rockets need a dragic to run the team especially when the game goes down the stretch which likely happens in the playoffd
Start the Caananball until/if we get Dragic. Bev should go ahead and get used to being nonstop energy off the bench. It's his NBA destiny, and a good one.
It may not be Dragic, but the Rockets definitely need another playmaker/distributor that can be on the floor when Harden isn't. If that's not Canaan (because McHale won't play him), it certainly isn't Terry.
