Well, if Dwight and DMo have a higher percentage of makes on their post-moves vs the Grizz, then they would get more passes. But if they are getting outworked, then teammates are not gonna have full confidence in them, esp. on a night when Harden is hitting his shots. You take what the defense is giving you. And tonight they defended the post very well. DMo couldn't get any rebounds.
Lol. If you think the team has no issues getting Dwight the ball in the post you are either blind or ignorant. This team has serious post entry passing issues. Dwight sucking on post-ups is not entirely his own fault. The team puts him in terrible positions with their terrible entry passes.
Yep our teams post entry passing is bad, ironically our bigs all pass well into the post though, too bad none of them can shoot beyond 10 feet. DD
DMo would be so much better if he could knock down a wide open 15 footer. He had one last night that wasn't even close to going in. Has to work on that shooting. I like him as a 6th man to get the bulk of the halfcourt touches with Dwight off the court.
None of our PF's should be shooting mid range J's with their terrible percentages. I'm not that worried overall because I think McHale will get everyone integrated into things with more practice time since he has three new faces in the rotation. But overall the second unit (and that includes Bev and Ariza) never looks to go inside when Harden is off the floor.
They have plenty of issues getting the ball to Dwight, lol. He only had 4 FGA against Memphis as well. This is true. Both Dwight and DMo failed to convert on their first two or three post ups so they went away from them.
Considering that dmo scored the first points of the game on a post up I would say it's not true . He went 2/4 the whole game .
Yeah, I've been saying that DMo needs face up jumper. Right now, he is either posting up (which nobody passes to him) or spotting up outside of the 3pt line (which is the most useless thing for him). I might have missed some. I only remember him getting post up touches three times last night. The first time he had good position, good footwork but missed the hook shot from the left block. The second time he got the ball in the right block and got fouled. The third time he got the ball in the left block and made a nifty pass to the cutter who got fouled (thus didn't get the assist). Somehow he did not try to get post up position very often after the first miss-even when the much smaller Prince was guarding him. And when he did, they didn't pass it to him most of the times.
He tried to get it but was ignored - for whatever reason, the team would rather pass across court for a 3pter....instead of post up for a good inside shot. DMo and Dwight step on each others toes, and while Dwight is the better player, DMo is the more complete player on both ends of the floor. Overall we have an issue with DMo, Dwight and JSmith all being left handed and post players, there is a crowd there..... The best post player is DMo, the 2nd best is Smith, and then Dwight...we really really could use a stretch PF or one with at least a solid midrange jump shot. DD
I'm really trying to figure out if Dmo is intentionally pulling a Yao Ming routine or he really falls the way he does at times. I know he's 7-1 but dang he has his Yao clumsy moments...
I may have to change my stance on who i think might be the better starter...I thought it was going to be an easier transition for Josh into the starting role...but I think he may actually be what this team needs off the bench. DMo also should start in order to get him confidence and a sense of rhythm. When Josh comes off the bench, he can focus on what he does best and wont have to worry about deferring to anyone else. He doesnt have that luxury as a starter.
DMo moves the ball without dribbling, and moves his body, Josh is another guy that wants to pound that ball into the dirt before doing anything. DD
Don't worry, D-Mo is gone soon enough and that's probably for the best since McHale has no clue how to use him. Watch him blow up for another team where he's put in good spots to be successful.
