Can I blame Obama for the smaller checks the past 2 months?

As stated before, I own .5% of a small O&G company. I expect it will go bankrupt. I do not blame Mr. Obama.

The sad thing is back when this company started and I got in on it, gas was $13 and we were going to drill cheap gas wells and be an income company. When gas crashed the General did a great job of skirting bankruptcy and morphing the company into oil exploration and found a couple of nice fields.
Now the gas is under $3 and the oil at $60. sheeeeeeeeit!

I would support this 100%. This is a unique opportunity, and we need to stop being so shortsighted.

Houston likes boom and bust. It's a favorite past time of the city.

Obama giveth and he also taketh away. Our President gave Houston a strong robust growing economy for the last 6 years. Unfortunately ungratefuls like the OP were not appreciative and kept denigrating him. Now look what Obama has done to Houston.

I blame bigtexxx for destroying Houston's economy, not Obama.

Due to cheap gas I am installing a fuel injector and spark plug on my tailpipe. I am using a microsquirt computer and a MSD coil but am having trouble wiring them up. If anyone has done this please email me.

Gas was at $13 all over? That looks like some winter spot rate in Zone 6 or in the gulf after Katrina.

    Yeah awhile back in 2008.

We really need to be able to export this stuff considering the worldwide price difference.

He's talking about natural gas prices as opposed to the gallon of gasoline prices.

haha -- my original title was proven 100% correct already

Thanks to the resilient oil engineers who were able to pioneer new ways to extracting oil -- they are to thank for the gasoline price.

    State or Federal or both?

I totally agree, btw, user taxes are hard to argue against as long as the taxes are being used for the stated purpose (see the sporting goods tax in Tx for example)

An opportunity to raise taxes is a good thing? Hell no it's not.

How about they find the road and infrastructure money from cutting wasteful spending elsewhere?
