ClutchFans Game Thread: Rockets @ Grizzlies 12/26/2014

Great win.

We started off the game poorly - just like we seemingly always do when starting two centers (DMo/Howard). Very little defensive effort in the first half as well.

But midway through the second quarter we came alive. Really liked what I saw from Smith tonight. Took two or three terrible shots, but everything else was so good you'll live with that. Howard probably had his worst game as a Rocket that I can remember. DMo... I really don't like it when he plays with Howard. I posted this in another thread, but our best lineups are

Howard/Smith
Howard/Jones (when he gets back)

and

DMo/Smith
DMo/Jones.

DMo is a center, and everything seems to go a LOT better for us when we only play one C at a time. We learned that last year with Asik.

Looking forward to seeing Smith in that starting lineup next game, or on Tuesday if we can't get a practice in.

Harden with another MVP performance. I got a little frustrated at the end when they were running plays for Smith and Harden had it rolling. Smith pulled a basket out of his ass on one play but if we're going to ISO someone in crunch time it HAS to be Harden.

Great games off the bench from Terry/Brewer and Dorsey surprised me with very good defense on Gasol. Can't wait until Jones gets back in a few weeks.

No its not a problem. Jones will be better as a spark guy scoring off the bench right now granted he is improving.

 

I will never, never, NEVER understand how Morey swung that trade.

Record-wise, Houston is the best road team in the league.

We're also a perfect 4-0 in overtime. All road games.

 

This board needs an T-1000 ******* like me to keep you guys in check. Some of you guys handout too many trophies for no reason. There needs be a balance between homers and realistic. People cherish the most petty stuff. I'm here to warn you about the future.

It's more fun to just enjoy the wins. Who cares if dudes get carried away?

 

What does the future hold in stock? Before the J-Smoov trade it was second round exit, to me. Now, I have to see how Jones fits in before I can ask myself if we are really good enough to make it to the WCF. Also, I want to see Howard, Harden, and Smith all play great starting together.

OKC in the first
Portland in the second
GS/LAC in the WCF

I am not worried about anyone in the east.

What's the point of being a fan when you can't overhype wins? You may think anything less than championship deserves praise, but I find it more enjoyable to watch wins against a top team on the road and not nitpick the details. It's more fun living that way.

 

Keep posting, dude... Eventually someone will pay you more attention than just an annoying glance.
