I know this is not the right time, but I have to ask: why does Howard struggle so badly against legit centers or frontcourt teams like OKC, the Clippers and obviously Gasol and Memphis? It's not just a matter of them being good defenders, which I get and obviously leads to some missed shots, but it really seems like Howard quits and shows terrible body language in games against them. He's completely worthless against those 3 teams which I why I do not ever want to face them in the playoffs.
How has NL not had his thread starting ability taken from him? This kid obviously didn't watch the Rockets last year when Howard dominated the Portland Trailblazers. So terrible.
If by legit front courts you mean those who have mid range shooting bigs then it's because our defense specializes stopping points in the paint, not the midrange.
You're going to get flamed for this thread, but I largely agree. I love Dwight, but he has a tendency to get absolutely punked against teams with physical big men, Memphis especially.
Saw the thread title and I thought the OP would have some solid numbers to back up his point, but I was let down.
He isn't just bad against these teams, he's straight up awful to the point where he's a detriment. Granted, he often doesn't get the benefit of the officials, but it is still very concerning.
Hard to play when refs swallow their whistles on one end of the floor and blow their whistle every play on the other end. Knee jerk thread is knee jerk
Nothing has changed in the past decade. He gets owned by centers who match him in strength and can hold their position without getting backed down. He's not nimble enough to drive around them.
Because unlike most other teams the teams mentioned require DH12 to have a counter post move and the predictable hook shot first option is taken away from him.
Yes, this is correct. He needs to run the pick and roll more often when he faces teams with strong centers.
