btw, piratebay is back up. they put servers on drones as a test. you just have to be able to use the key that they show you on their website Go Mr Universe/Serenity...he exists.
Nah, I love gaming. But at least stop playing and be with your family a bit. And to the one saying oh but it's holidays, most of these kids are playing many hours per day, especially the ones openly complaining online. Christmas is one of the very rare times where families gather and can spend time together, you can game the rest of the year.
It's clear that Yung T was one of the hackers. I remember with the original Xbox, I went to my cousins house and we all took turns playing online and schooling folks. Great family time while playing online.
I might be wrong, but I don't think this was really a "hack." We say "hackers" took it down, but all they really did was a DDoS attack. Um, let's say they couldn't figure out a way into the house (where the important stuff is stored), but they blocked the entrance so no one else could get in....or something like that. (there are lots of good explanations/examples of DDoS attacks) But to sum it up, no account details should have been compromised here. Just limited/no availability.
Did all this too, but not on Christmas. And is it impossible to play family games (which mostly are kinect or offline) without xbl and psn? I'd bet 99% of the outrage comes from male guys waiting to be alone in their room and playing something like CoD.
You aren't going to spend all 24 hours with your family. Maybe after all the meet and greets you do want to play online. I also don't see how sitting around watching basketball and talking is different than playing online games and talking either. If someone was going to be alone in their room, they would still do it (online or not).
